Update On The Lady Mone Ppe Scandal

The government is seeking to recover the money paid for the defective PPE plus the costs of storage and disposal. Medpro claims the PPE was supplied as specified by the contract, but the legal complaint (filed by the Department of Health and Social Care) alleges that Medpro provided false accreditation, claiming compliance with the PPE Directive for the gowns.

If true, it should be easy to prove; besides being CE marked, each gown is required to bear the assigned Notified Body Number of the organisation that performed the accreditation. The Department of Health and Social Care claims the gowns had no such number marking, and further that the claimed (by Medpro) accreditation body has denied any involvement.

The government’s lawsuit is seeking £133 million, but what with Mone and her husband taking £65 million out of the company, even if they get a verdict in their favour there may be insufficient company assets to settle the debt – leaving the taxpayer to pick up the tab.

My reply may also be removed ( by Naomi). I thought it very strange how Naomi was offered the post, and how quickly she accepted it, never seen that happen before on AB.
For some reason Naomi continues to post on most posts as she did pre modship.
Might some mods feel ousted out and feel no need to post as Naomi seems to have it covered . ?

Well 'recollections may vary' but I thought it happened on a discussion about loads of early morning spam not getting removed while Emmie was unavailable. Naomi said she'd offered to clear up spam in the past but that offer had not been accepted. Then Ed came on and it went from there. She was put in the position of put up or shut up.

There is nothing wrong with being a mod as long as you can handle it and not let it go to your head. Then start acting like Mr or Mrs Bossy Boots some can handle it some Can't. That's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Do Mods not also post about non-Mod stuff? I doubt NAOMI has been responsible for each deletion since she become a Mod but the fact she is public about her actions makes her more obvious than the anonymous ones.

This isn’t really the place to discuss this but rest assured I won’t remove any posts without valid and fair reason. I’m neither friend nor foe to anyone here, I don’t belong to any ‘side’ and I don’t do enemies or favourites. For the record I’m happy to be a named mod - I’ve never thought secrecy conducive to trust or good practice and I’ve said that many times - so I wouldn’t have it any other way. The animosity I receive from a few sad souls is to be expected but the tremendous support I’ve received far outweighs that so it’s pretty negligible.
