This was indicated several days back by No 10 and Ben Wallace.
It’s part of the new “coalition of the willing” that should be confirmed this Friday at the meeting of the Ramstein group of 40 countries committed to provide military aid to Ukraine. Poland and Finland jumped first on the tank front as I mentioned before. Denmark and Spain wait in the wings. A rocket up the backside of the German Chancellor now all that’s needed
There's been a lot of speculation about this Builder: we believe so.
Same goes for other tank systems.
Meanwhile: 'Maria Zakharova told BBC News: "As we’ve said previously, weapons supplies are legitimate targets for Russian strikes." '
That always makes me laugh: almost as if they try to fool people by only hitting houses, hospita;lsm schools and kindergartens most of the time.
If it weren't so tragic, you'd have to laugh at the use of the word "legitimate" ;o)
I have read that Germany has something like 400 Leopard tanks stashed in a shed somewhere, and it's the Green Party baulking at their possible deployment.
I don't know if it's a simple as that, but it does account for Sholtz's dithering.
The Germans have been consistent in all this: "we aren't going to do this, we confirm we aren't going to do it."
Then they do it.
This happened with the Marders for example. Scholz is the sticking point. A shameful abandonment of leadership from Europe's most powerful country.
The Leopards will come.
This announcement hasn't come out of the blue. It's going to form part of a joint operation.
"When it was announced, the government said the scheme to train Ukrainian soldiers in the UK would be able process 10,000 troops every 120 days."
I don't know if that taget has been met (sounds like it was a statement of maximum capacity) but thousands have already returned to Ukraine after training.
I was asking specifically about Challenger 2 crew/driver training, as per the OP. We haven't actually got that many to send - thanks partly to those in the know saying a few years back that traditional land warfare was at an end and tanks would not feature in the wars of the future.
Don’t know and don’t care. It’s irrelevant
I’m not here to make political capital
All that matters is that Ukraine gets what it needs to smash the Russians
An entire apartment block in Dnipro just took a direct hit.
The sooner they are smashed by a combination of weaponry from collaborating allies the better
