It is of no surprise! The way he conducted himself through the hearing ("Get on with it", "I'm bored" etc) was never going to win the board over!!

That and saying he was 'born to rumble' and fondly reminiscing the times he took hostages. Almost as if he didn't want parole:-/
I believe that, having spent much of his last 48 years behind bars, he is too afraid of being released. Though i wouldn't say that to his face, of course.

he seems to like celebrity, so id imagine if he was set free parole, he would probably do the celeb circuit tv chat shows, im a celeb get me out of here ermm etc, probably go to pubs, and be look im here.. he would have supporters and let's have a pop at charlie types.

I think the perceived wisdom is that Mr Bronson is sufficiently institutionised because of the length of his incarceration, that he would not begin to cope with life on the outside, and it is to his benefit, as well as that of the wider society, that he remains where he is.
