There always have been (and always will be) weather events out of line with historical patterns. At the moment the UK’s weather is out of line. It is (IIRC) around 40 years since the temperature did not reach 20 degrees before the end of April, but looking at the latest forecast, it seems unlikely that will be achieved at least for the next two weeks.
//How anyone can deny climate change is beyond me.//
I’m not denying the climate is changing. Once again, it always has and always will. But a short term spell of unusual weather (as the UK had last summer) is not a symptom of that.
//You can go way back and I doubt you will find a time when the coral reefs all over the world started dying. But I'm sure many will say its got nothing to do with climate change. :•)//
The principle cause of coral bleaching and death is a rise in sea temperatures and one of the main causes of that are the El Niño episodes that have been occurring (along with changes in the climate) since prehistoric times. There have been episodes of coral bleaching recorded throughout the 20th century.

In answer to the OP, the British people love talking about the weather, no matter where it is or what it is. I don't know why it seems to fascinate people like it does. It was only a few weeks ago that we had reports of blizzards in Madrid, didn't we? I think the weather reports should be banned from TV and only be available online.
