This Is Incredible !!!
Nigel Farage may be hounded out of the UK

It seems that any suspicion gives banks the right to close accounts, without explanation, to avoid risk, even when such suspicion/ risk seems ridiculously small and remote. That seems wrong. Obviously society shouldn't tip off the bad guys that they are under suspicion, but one wonders what society thinks closing the accounts of everyone around them...

the bank won't refute it because they do not publicly comment on individual accounts... this does not mean farage is right
i simply do not believe farage is telling the whole truth... he is not a very honest person and benefits hugely from looking like a martyr. he already withheld lots of pertinent information about falling below the wealth threshold of his bank and his story about them offering him an account right before he went on air just sounds made up... anyone who simply trusts his word is to be quite frank a mug.

“ Even better would be to change the law. It is an EU directive and a Brexit Government ought to deal with it.”
As I’ve pointed out twice on this thread before, all EU citizens’ right to have bank account is protected in law. In other words, if we hadn’t followed Nige’s master Brexit plan, he would still have one.
Oh dear Mr F, what did you do!

A typical one of your deviationary measures away from the topic under discussion, however I'll accommodate you.
What Nigel Farage did, was help rescue the United Kingdom from an undemocratic EU superstate, which in their own words, is set upon, "ever closer union", the logical end state of that being a federal Europe with severe limitations to it's constituent members for any form of self-determination.
The majority of the country understood that, I understood that, but either you didn't, or you prefer foreign governance. It was democratically voted on & you lost, so tough titty!
I suggest you either return to the topic of banking, or start your own thread on the probity of Nigel Farage.

based on the fact that he withheld important information from the outset and that he has lied an awful lot in the past…
there is one personal thing that is just me though… which is that i think his story about being offered a natwest account right before he went on air sounds like something made up. i cannot prove that one but i am not willing to take his word for it.

dishonest: That I assume is based on your dislike of him rather than anything evidence based?
nope on things like - £350m ( red bus) to the NHS - - Oh said the Nige, we shouldnt have said that ! - - - Liar, liar....
And The nige supports Brexit and then bleats that in the EU you have a right to a bank account. - silence those noisy Irony klaxons!
BUT reader, as I blush and spologise
PEP ( politicallyy exposed persons) DO get a raw deal and the banks close their accounts without explanation
BUT reader, the posh ponces may be ---- important. Bad news. So Ed Vaisey in the Times, says that The Nige has done everyone a favour - a well known 'famous' even name ( the nige that is!) has been unfairly treated.
People have been treated like this for years, however within a week of The Nige going public there is a review.
Ed V then says ungraciously that The Nige may not have been thinking of anyone besides himself

He can’t have contradicted a statement he didn’t make, untitled. That’s just silly. Furthermore, him falling below the required wealth level doesn’t explain why others who also fall below that level haven’t had their accounts cancelled. Why aren’t you questioning the inconsistency there - and asking why?
