Made by Enoch Powell ,very controversial for its time but a lot of it is happening with no controlled immigration nor any government in power or opposition ,willing to tackle it ,it’s seen as a poison chalice

Completely incorrect. There is no specific reference to either peoples in his speech.
That fact that you’ve previously complained about Naomi adding in adjectives beggars belief. It’s one of your very own traits/faults which I’ve specifically suggested you stop doing. A completely pot/kettle scenario.

Naomi - No-one would argue that the country has, and will change.
The simple factbis, Mr Powell referenced a specific ethnicity in his speech, and history has proved him to be incorrect.
I cannot understand why you are so determined not to accept that very simple fact, and will use any and every means to try and argue against it.

'Zacs - Where do you think 'picaninnies' come from?'
Andy, I haven't mentioned 'piccanninis'.
You said he'd specifically referred to Afro-Caribbean and West Indian immigrants which he didn't. You may have extrapolated that he was referencing them through the use of the word piccanninis but the words 'Afro-Caribbean' and 'West Indian' aren't used. To refer to anything specifically the actual words have to be used.

Zacs - Mr Powell was clearly referring to Afro-Caribbean and West Indian migrants.
They were the only significant numbers of migrants at the time, so clearly Mr Powell thought it unnecessary to actually name them specifically.
Mr Powell knew to whom he was referring, as do I, and if you are so convinced of the rightness of his point then so should you.

SparklyKid, I cannot answer on the soaps reference because I watch none, but adverts are an interesting category. I think ads should reflect as accurately as possible the number of people who are black or of colour living in this country. Then again, I have seen the recent ad for the Open University which, imo, seems disproportionate. I suppose it all depends on where we as individuals live.
