one way or another it already is being used...according to his wife...and depression for some time...if no crimes been committed then its a non story and will be forgotten in a week at most...

I suspect this one will run for a bit, given the profile of the person concerned: as close as you'll get to BBC royalty, and even if there are no further actions taken, unless it all turns out to be a frame-up, it's all very sleazy.

It will run for a while yet, as in the early days of the story, the young person in receipt of the £35k was reported to be male. Quickly changed to "the young person" and now undiscosed but implications are that its a same-sex affair.

It might not be illegal, but that isn't the point is it. I'm not approving or disapproving but the details are so out of keeping with our idea of someone like HE that I suspect the shockwaves will be around a while
