Khandro 22.10 there are not streets in Kviv named after johnson there is just one, and it is a potholed road in a ramshackle residential area. With a very large ditch running alongside .Reserved for Boris.

"What about that" ?

09.35 Everyone reads your posts Peter. Not sure if they understand them, but you can bet they read them.

gulliver, you have been reading (or making up yourself) utter rubbish;

The street is currently named after Vladimir Mayakovsky, a famous Russian poet and playwright. Fontanka's council announced plans to change its name to Boris Johnson Street – or вулиця Бориса Джонсона

Question Author

Khandro @ 09.39 And now the street is named after an infamous.

Ex British PM Famous for his lies good luck to them on that one

They should have named it Pinocchio street

KHANDRO, you claimed, "There are actually streets in Kviv now named after him, what about that ?:

That is not factual is it?

"while Middle England may have become disillusioned with the prime minister, the same cannot be said here on Boris Johnson Street, a tree-lined lane by the sea in the town of Fontanka, outside Odesa, southern Ukraine."

"Fontanka, outside Odesa, southern Ukraine." is not Kyiv and it is a single street, not multiple streets.

"Fontanka, outside Odesa, southern Ukraine."

True, but Mayakovsky, whom he replaces, is a very famous poet,

I'm pretty sure there is a street in Kyiv that's been renamed: I'll check.

Renaming too many would be a bit confusing perhaps :-)

One thing that did appear last year was a calorie-laden Boris Johnson cake. And Boris Johnson lemonade in Khmelnitsky.

On the subject of Andriivka mentioned above it appears that the entire Russian 72nd motorised rifle battalion was destroyed after being cut off inside the village.

KHANDRO, when you accuse someone of reading or making up utter rubbish, it does not make you look good when your claim about streets in Kyiv being named after Boris Johnson is wrong on both counts.

Question Author

Khandro 10.02 You been telling porkies about a Famous Liar .

And there aint multiple streets named after Johnson.....

gulliver; insult Boris as much as you like, but by suggesting that the Ukrainians wishing to honour someone, would chose a street which is , "a potholed road in a ramshackle residential area with a very large ditch running alongside" Is to insult the Ukrainians.

I think a lot of confusion arises because there are plans/rumours and often either nothing happens it it's delayed.

Place names in Kyiv and throughout Ukraine are a nightmare as it is with multiple places having the same name or even more than one name: Soviet names in Russian and Ukrainian or post-Soviet names in either language: a good example being the old Red Army street in Kyiv centre: a bit of a nightmare.

So further renaming might be seen as problematic.
