I am a little confused about Hammas and the innocents of Gaza.I am given to understand that Hamas were actually elected to become the ruling government of Palestine ! Who actually elected them? Was it the innocent Palestinians who are on the Gaza strip.? From what I read the innocent Palistinians are continually used as human shields when Israel is attacked...

So what should Israel do then CountryLover?

Thousands dying and idiots on here arguing about what a word means - sad.

Sometimes some abers on this site frighten me with their ultra right wing views.
Let's hope it's not indicative of the whole country.

Gawd elp us the Gullyteenies are chiming in now!

I agree Anne.  And I am somewhat confused as to why someone who considers himself super intelligent thinks I support Hamas because I foresaw (like many others) this dreadful attack happening.  Israel was taken by surprise though.  I simply can't support Israel and its treatment of Palestinians over the years  I just feel so sorry for normal  Palestinians,  And also all the innocents both Israeli and Palestinians.

I certainly haven't any answers TTT so won't be contributing to your other post.

have a go at my question here then:

https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question1852062.html

"I simply can't support Israel and its treatment of Palestinians over the years  " - They only ever respond to being attacked.  Israel never start it, anything that they have done is the fault of Hamas.

"I certainly haven't any answers TTT so won't be contributing to your other post." - so you criticise what they do but do not have any suggestions of your own? Right oh! Ok just answer this, do you think Israel should have just let this go and not defended its people?

Frank's worked himself into a wee tizzy again.

They only ever respond to being attacked.  Israel never start it, anything that they have done is the fault of Hamas.

"Untitled, could you answer my question please?"

i think we already did that on one of the other threads naomi

Untitled, you said Israel shouldn't retaliate so I asked what they should do?

we've already had that conversation twice i believe

When you take * time  out*from  AB you tend to return sharper and more alert. Fresh air is free and fabulous. Try it .

Clearly there are people on AB who only show their concern for their fellow humans (re happening in Israel/Gaza) when Israel retaliates.

Untitled, Ok, I'll rephrase the question.  If you get your wish and Israel  doesn't retaliate it follows that they allow their people to be slaughtered, their country to smashed to smithereens, and ultimately to be replaced by an Islamic state.  Is that acceptable to you?  Since it's the stated intention of Hamas to destroy Israel a yes or no will do.  There are no in betweens.

Anneasquith, you appear to pop up on these threads simply to have a pop at other people.  Do you have an opinion on this?

i'm sorry but i do not believe that it follows to say that israel will be destroyed and replaced by an islamic state if it does not conduct air strikes on civilians. they had an awful lot to do with hamas coming to power in gaza in the first place (haaretz reports today that netanyahu endorsed funding hamas as recently as 2019 in order to keep palestine divided)... so they can have an awful lot to do with hamas being deposed. air strikes have not once worked at weakening hamas and frankly i doubt at this point that they are intended to. if you really want hamas diminished then the scalpel may be a more effective weapon than the sledgehammer.

I've spoken about this ongoing tragedy., i don't feel the the need to express my point on every thread.
On a serious note though I don't think it's very healthy to be on line for 12 hours , only my POV .
