They say they don't support Hamas, but now Israel is under attack from that terrorist organisation, they're out on the streets calling for Palestine to be free.  If they are not supporting Hamas in its purpose, how are they expecting 'freedom' to be achieved?

On the suggestion that waving the Palestinian flag might be an offence, one 16 year old said, “For me the flag is a symbol of peace, of human rights. A criminal offence? Genocide, ethnic cleansing are criminal offences.”

Hamas has declared its intention to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.  Genocide?  Ethnic cleansing?  Hmmm .....

Countrylover - // Andy, this this has been sorted.  Naomi and I are fine with each other.  I have been a mod.  I just hoped that because Naomi had witnessed what TTT had accused me off should be removed and thought that as Naomi was on the same thread she would remove such awful words. //

Clearly you feel that Naomi is not fulfilling her responsibilities as a Moderator, and I believe that the correct place for that discussion is with the Editor, off line, not derailing a thread to raise it.

// I fully understand that she has every right to express her opinioms and I  do too. Those accusations about me and others approving of babies being beheaded should be removed.  They are not acceptable.  Whilst they remain I have no faith in any moderator who sees them and leaves them.  And in my opinion be suspended  for a while. //

Again, if you are not happy with the moderation posts are receiving, then raise those concerns with the Editor.

// I didn't need a lecture from you. //

Good job I didn't post one then.

Trouble is Andy  there is no point reporting at weekends when the powers that be are never around.  Also I rarely report people.

Countrylover - // Trouble is Andy  there is no point reporting at weekends when the powers that be are never around.  //

Reports left over the evenings and weekends are assessed when the Editorial Team return to work on Monday mornings.

// Also I rarely report people. //

Then you can't complain that your issues are not addressed can you?

In my opinion mods should be able to access reports and act on them.  Monday morning  is too late to take action an that's why I rarely report because all the troubles appear at theweekends.

If you want to understand antisemitism (& indeed Israelophobia) watch this wonderful interview with the editor of the Jewish Chronicle. It's 45 minutes long & probably way beyond many ABers attention span

Khandro - But not beyond yours of course.

Is your patronizing superiority something you were born with, or is it a byproduct of your rampant insecurity?

Your dread that people on here will think your views less interesting and worthy, unless you deliver them with a sneering put down?

Lottie, I don't see everything but if I spot a post I deem worthy of removal, I remove it.  I don't treat any member any differently from the rest.  I try to be fair to all.  I would say that if a post remains that you feel should have been removed you might think about why, with about 15 or 16 mods here, none of them have made that decision.

For what it's worth I disagree that reports should be accessible to mods.  That would compromise confidentiality.

Can we please get back to the topic now.  That seems to have been pretty much forgotten.

I'm really very worried about what is happening by this Muslim-fuelled mob ignorance;

https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1824049/cenotaph-palestinian-protest-mps-fury-israel

If you can spare the time do watch the above video.

When I think of the atrocities suffered by Britain & Europe by Muslim extremists; the deaths and bombings in Manchester, London, Paris, Berlin & many more, the gang grooming of young women in the north of England, teachers & priests stabbed to death, and consider  the Jewish community, who have harmed nobody, are law abiding & hard working and have to now have police protection for their school children in England, I could really weep.

It's terrifying, Khandro, and more worrying is the rejection of frank dscussion.  That way lies the danger repeating historical events that no one in their right mind would endorse.  For the sake of the world, idealism must be shelved.

Very interesting to see those that want debate closed down and no more discussions.

I have drawn my conclusions about them, but of course I wont be allowed to write my thoughts for fear of suspension.

What happens after the IDF go in and purge Haza of Hamas (assuming they can). Would the the Israelies remain in Gaza taking responsibility, or would they evacuate, leaving an aocio-political vacuum?

*Gaza not Haza🙄

I left the so called discussion simply because of TTT who is constantly nasty to anyone who doesn't share his views and insults rather than debates.  If you think it's OK to accuse people of condoning and approving of beheading babies then so be it.

Sorry Zac, obviously that wasn't aimed at you.

 Palestine should be able to exist in peace like everywhere else, the problem is the terrorists of Hamas operating from the country. Hamas should be wiped out and then Palestine left to pick up the pieces after the war.

William; Hamas was voted in and would presumably be so again if there was an election;

'The Central Elections Commission released the final results on Sunday, 29 January 2006, and announced that Change and Reform (Hamas) had won 74 of the 132 seats, while Fatah trailed with 45. According to the results, Hamas won the large majority of the constituency seats..'

I agree William.

Khandro  As for the election do you really believe the result?  Hamas are evil might there not have been pressure on the people?   And sometimes voters don't know what they're voting for.  I voted for Blair!!  Little did I know.

Cl //As for the election do you really believe the result? //

I don't know, but it was a 2 party system & Fatah didn't protest at the result as far as I know. But anyway they have the same objectives in removing Israel - remember Yasser Arafat?

^^^^ That's not quite true (on paper at least)

In 1988 the Fatah-led PLO declared independence as a government-in-exile, recognized the existence of the State of Israel, rejected terrorism, and embraced a two-state solution. It pursued negotiations with Israel, and in 1993 Israel and the PLO signed a peace agreement (the Oslo Accords). The following year the Palestinian Authority (PA) was established to govern the emerging Palestinian autonomous regions, and Gaza city became Fatah headquarters. Elections were held in PA-administered areas in 1996. Arafat won the presidency, and Fatah captured a majority of seats within the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC); Hamas did not participate in the elections. Arafat remained president of the PA until his death in 2004. Mahmoud Abbas, one of the original members of Fatah, succeeded him in leadership of the PLO and was elected PA president in 2005.

The people do seem quite keen on them (Hamas) Probably unwise not to be.

Talking of unwise..'Queers for Palestine' ðŸ˜•. Still, whatever floats their boat, I suppose.
