Still pondering this a bit but at the moment I think I agree with him - although not for the same reasons. What say you?

Those who haven't been there don't understand the enduring sense of loss,that repeats when your friends start be coming grand parents too. My sister couldn't have children either so I didn't have the consolation of having neices or nephews. For some surrogacy is the only hope of parenthood

is it really important? the thing you want is for people who are born to be raised in a loving and comfortable home... does it really matter if someone is upset a few years down the line about how they were conceived? they'll get over it.
