My guess was also bladder cancer,  in which case KC will probably have a turbt, followed up with local chemo which goes directly into the bladder.  If this is the case he should  do really well.  Bowel cancer would be more complicated and tends to be chemo, surgery, more chemo.  The pattern will give more idea.   Of course there is always the lymphomas, leukaemias,  that would be picked up from blood tests but let us hope this is not the case although in older people they can often be managed quite long term.

He's a great King who has moved with the times.  He's a credit to this country. He's one of us.  I respected the late Queen very much, but she was very much 'old school'  in many respects.  I am hoping that Andrews girls will be working Royals soon.  I dont think Harry will ever return whilst he's controlled by his wife.

(Hubby tells me that Megan is back  in Suits as the main actor in the new series)

No doubt Christopher Hitchens would be delighted tthat you agree with him, untitled.  Fact is whoever it is who's ill, it doesn't hurt any less or cause less concern just because they happen to be royal or wealthy.

//We're lucky we're even told about it ...//

Yes - we are having oodles of luck aren't we!

the king is not "one of us" by definition

He is by my definition!

with greatest respect... what exactly is there to be concerned about? he is receiving world class care in the considerable comfort of his palace and whatever it is has been caught early. he's fine.

Well, the pressure is off Kate at the moment re her procedure.

UNTITLED, "with greatest respect" you have no idea what the cancer is, what like his condition is or what the prognosis is.

in the worst possible case scenario (and one that is extremely unlikely) he dies at a ripe old age in the comfort of his home and surrounded by loved ones... is this something to be "concerned" about?

He's not fine.  He's got cancer.  He will be worried regardless of where he lives or how rich he is.  He's a human being.  I must admit during my recent scare I paid for private diagnosis and care.  It didn't make me 'fine'.

you're concerned that the king is worried? does it really bother you that much?

I'm just pointing out that he's not fine.  Nobody is fine if they've got cancer and will worry. I am not worried about him being worried.  Don't be daft.  Where have I said I am worried?

Or concerned that he might be worried.

I am a staunch Republican, but there is a time and a place.

Now is not the time nor the place, to bring it up here does not help the cause.

So, untitled, you reserve any sympathy/concern only for people who fit a status decided by you, whatever that may be.  Others can go hang!

canary... what is there to be concerned about? he has received a prompt diagnosis, he has access to excellent medical care and he is comfortable at home... if any of these things were untrue then i would share in your concern but they are not!

he's old and old people get sick. it is very unlikely to be an illness that was preventable... what are you concerned about? what is the problem here?

I see the nasty left can't help themselves again.

the first thing i would want for anyone with cancer is that they receive good treatment promptly... the second thing i would want is that they are comfortable and treated with respect... the third is that they are surrounded by loved ones, whoever those people might be.

he's got all those things. what else is there to be concerned about? i don't get it.

I see the nasty Right are making it a political issue again.
