This is a discussion forum I thought it would be useful to talk about the our batshit crazy handwringers and what they are doing.
TTT - // This is a discussion forum I thought it would be useful to talk about the our batshit crazy handwringers and what they are doing. //
I shall ignore your thinly veiled reference to the notion that I in any way support the blockage of assylum legislation, that would mean another in a series of long tedious pointless arguments.
So let's stick with the idea of the OP shall we.
Long experience shows that there will not be a 'discussion'.
There will be trumpeting loud and long from the self-righteous brothers and sisters, there will be logical and cogently argued rebuutal from the more reasonable AB'ers, the entire thing will take up days of exchanges, it will get heated, it will get nowhere at all, and then it will stop.
Until another day, when it will all start up again.
If you have nothing better to do with your time, be my guest, but I shall probably not be joining in.
naomi - // Well said him. //
I am sure that anyone with any sense would applaud the sentiments offered by Mr Ferari.
// Apparently another twenty 'asylum seekers' off the boats and now living in a camp here have been baptised this week. They can't be sent back to places where Christians aren't too welcome then. Well done the church. Always happy to help! //
The naivity and pomposity of the church leaders who are engaged in this nonsense would be laughable were it not so serious.
I am sure when the word gets round, conversion will be as compulsory as the fee to the boat loaders, with slightly less validity.
Where on earth is this going to end ...
Thanks to all those who voted Conservative in 2019 and elected this bunch of useless cretins. They have been in power for 14 years and their recent performance has been abysmally poor. They have failed on immigration, failed on law and order and failed on the economy. The sooner we get someone else in who knows what they are doing, the better.
The Conservatives have been in Government for 14 years and recently have had a 80 seat majority, so trying to pass the buck really is not on.
It is opposition within the parliamentary Conservative Party in the Commons and Lords that has hampered any constructive progress. On most things the Party is racked by division which makes getting anything done almost impossible.
Jackson - If you are going to get into a debate where you condemn one set of individuals for failing to address a specific issue, it's really not helpful to shrug your shoulders and 'not care' who may replace them.
That's abdication of responsibility.
If you care enough to be bothered about what's wrong, you owe it to yourself to be bothered about who might be in a position to put it right.
Otherwise, you are simply going to be a pub moaner, and I'm sure that's not a position you would wish to adopt.
