Now I know that we must have ethnic diversity in news readers but how did this woman pass a screen test? She can't pronounce "L", says "De" instead of "the" and stumbles over sentences all the time, just waiting to see if she says "aks"! What happened to quality, like Clive Myrie, Trevor McDonut and Moira Stewart for example?

It takes a very special level of self-confidence to believe that everybody in a 150+ comment thread secretly agree with you and are just being argumentative because it's you saying it." - but it amounts to about 8 people at the most, I wonder what the millions of viewers think.
TTT - // That's just maths andy, when the viewing figures are in the millions to take less than 10 people as any sort of measure is statistically invalid. //
I'm not suggesting statistical validity TTT - I'm pointing out that the only people who have posted on this thread entirely disagree with you.
And yes, the viewing figures are in the milllions, but as you and I know, if anyone on the BBC is creating waves, it becomes news, and we hear about it - ask Gary Lineker.
But there is not furore about this lady's pronunciation, but it irks a small minority - and you are among them.
// ... because those above value being contrarian to me higher than being honest with themselves. I'm not the one digging. //
Are you still trying to style this out with the argument that everyone who has diagreed with you is doing so, not because they think you are wrong, but because they are all lying to themselves about what they actually think?
Really???
Let me hold my sides, they may split!!!!
TTT - // "And yes, the viewing figures are in the milllions, but as you and I know, if anyone on the BBC is creating waves, it becomes news, and we hear about it - ask Gary Lineker." - I'm talking about the viewers they don't have the prominence of celebreties like GL. //
Your post does not make sense.
To reiterate my point - if anyone who works for the BBC is causing a fuss because of what they say and do, it makes news.
You don't have to be a 'celebrity', and Gary Lineker is certainly not that.
My point is, if Ms Byaruhanga's diction was irritating a number of viewers in the way it irritates you, then it would become a news item.
It's not, because she doesn't.
It's really just you, and maybe a small number of other people.
And on here - it's just you.
Not a group of people who would rather lie to themselves than admit you are right, it's just you.
OK?
Excellent.
Onwards ...
TTT - // AH: "Not a group of people who would rather lie to themselves than admit you are right" - well they don't have to admit I'm right, just admit to themseleves they are lying to themselves rather than acknowledge I have a point. //
But they don't think you do have a point!!
That's the bit you are wilfully determined not to grasp.
TTT - // Like you they have bought in to this deception. keep digging me old china, I'm here indefinately. //
I cannot speak for any other posters on the thread, but there is no 'deception', therefore I cannot have 'bought into it'.
I think you are getting lost in your own determination that everyone else is wrong, and you can only be the one who is right.
