If just ONCE someone, ANYONE, involved in this sort of scandal would come out with a full and frank explanation of their involvement & their motives, hold their hand up & say "Yes, Mea Culpa" then my faith in human nature might be slightly restored.

Vennels is (was?) a minister of religion for goodness sake & probably pitching to be a bishop - can even she not fess up!

It would make the difference of causing other people that may find themselves in the same position think twice before doing the wrong thing.

If she's guilty of a crime, she should be punished for it.

You could ask the same question about any alleged criminal. It would save alot of time in the courts, but alot of cowardly evildoers would go unpunished.

I tole my chinee (mandarin ) intepreter that "sanction" was one of the words that had two meaning one was opposite to the other. She said - o god and then asked in Mandarin to the driver "Did you understand what he just said?" - the driver was a spook as I had the surname of the director of MI5 or 6 or some other damned number. ( sort of contemporary Wragg comment)

Shipman was a special case - they cd only take his pension away from him ( by a stroke of the ministers pen) when he had it ( vested)

so he committed suicide a few months before the vesting date

and if it were contributory - you cant really and anyway there was no reason to

I think what she (and others) did or presided over was abominable & she should should face some sort of punishment but if she didn't herself make perjurous statements or testimony in court has she committed any offence in law?
