//The UK foreign secretary told the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg that the organisation should reconsider its guidelines in light of a video released by Hamas showing the British-Israeli hostage Nadav Popplewell, who the group said had died in Gaza.//
Will the BBC listen?

Incredible that sandyRoe supports the baby beheaders, rapists and murderers.
The Contras in Nicaragua weren't classified as terrorists because they had the backing of powerful allies. The British wouldn't have seen the French Resistance as terrorists, thought the Germans would have.
Freedom fighters are generally massively out gunned, face propaganda that depicts them as monsters, and know their struggle will either lead to an early grave of a life in prison.
Freedom Fighter also are underdogs banded together against an oppressive force or regime. We're the 1200 or so innocent Israeli citizens murdered in Oct 7 an oppressive force?
I don't support the IDF's murderous rampage through Gaza, but Hamas are not the plucky revolutionaries you seem to think they are.
sandyRoe, the 'bad press' Hamas gets isn't propaganda.
'The Resistance' were most certainly NOT terrorists, sandyRoe. I've met the children of several and visited the designated cemetery near La Rochefoucauld with one of them - his father is carved (smashing machinery) on the monument. I heard a lot of first-hand recounting of what the occupying Germans did - total barbarism sometimes - and how 'La Resistance' responded. In the commune where I lived there was a bullet-riddled wall next to the cemetery where the Germans marched suspected resistance members and slaughtered them.
Apologies for rant everyone. Britain knew that the Resistance were not terrorists.
that's what sandyRoe is saying jourdain.
Bednobs, sandyRoe said the Germans would have regarded them as terrorists. They wouldn't.
Bednobs, sandyRoe said 'the British wouldn't have seen the French Resistance as terrorists though[t] the Germans would have'.
It's nonsense. The Germans were occupying France. They knew exactly what the French Resistance was - and they knew they weren't terrorists. sandyRoe is intent of portraying Hamas as rather more worthy of respect than they are.
We seem to be locked in a struggle over semantics. The Germans did not, I am sure from my conversations, see La Resistance as terrorists. The Germans were the invaders, the Resistance were seen as stubborn pockets of, well, resistance - and quite frankly a d**m*d nuisance to be trodden on and cleared away. One elderly friend grew-up in a village just over a mile from the Vichy France border - the Germans were contemptuous.... and merciless if they caught anyone.

oo-la-la - that is a bit granco-german
Comete line ( famous for escaping airmen - escaping doctors ( my dad) they werent so interest in) lost on average one resistante for each returned airman
You might say - oh yeah ( mais oui) - they used to shoot them but they werent terrorists ( shot on sight)
You know in Poland 1939 ( er not part of France I agree, ) the Boy Scouts were declared a terrorist organisation ?
TIL about the Battalion Zośka, made up primarily of outlawed Polish boy scouts and girl scouts. They were responsible for the liberation of the Gęsiówka concentration camp from the Nazis in 1944. The rescued Jews went on to join these young scouts in their instrumental role in the Warsaw Uprising.
