I watched the coverage of Rishi Sunak giving his speech, then leaving No. 10 today. I then watched Keir Starmer giving his speech, but couldn't recall seeing Angela Rayner nearby, or in the crowds. Just curious as to why? (If she was there, please remove this post Ed).

It's true that there seems to be a rachet effect. Each new government being less interested in getting rid of problems passed by the last lot, and more interested in adding a new layer of problems of their own.

Naomi24 - I haven't seen her much lately either! I do seem to remember a poster once referring to Rayner as a 'fish wife' and they weren't far wrong - a bit different to a Red Queen, whatever that's supposed to mean! 😏

Smudge 15.26 Don't know about red queens. But there were quite a few Blue queens in the Tory party . One of them being the downfall of Boris.

gulliver1 - You are right, but I wasn't referring to Rayner's looks, it's when she opens her mouth! I'm really surprised she was chosen as deputy - mind you, it could have been worse, it could have been Diane Abbott!
