yes indeedy: part of his defence for corruption and peculation has been " I gotta war to run and only I can win it" - and even some israelis are saying that he is for this reason prolonging the war which cd have been settled a year ago.

What it seems is to be a defensive act in common with existing Israeli policy. Which amounts to, "We've had enough of this, we're ensuring you think twice before trying anything".
Unless they start taking cities and controlling those areas it remains an apparent attempt at a preemptive action preventing attacks by the new Syrian regime.
Time will tell though.

Going bombing a civilian area and saying " ah yes it is really a chemical weapons factory/nuclear arsenal / command post" always turns my stomach. But hey, it is applauded by some on AB - free speech free speech !
This new bearded chap who, is walking on eggshells and might have the power actually within his grasp & is saying all things to all men.
He reminds me of what the prince said in The Leopard in the novel by Lampedusa of Garibaldi, - "He wants to be me".
This guy doesn't want to only overthrow Assad (good idea) I think you will find he wants to be Assad.
The palace has been trashed, which can easily be cleaned up, & before long, guess who will take up residence?
