muslim area !!!!

what gives a "foreigner" the right to tell the British Home Secretary that he has gone to a "muslim area" and insulted the muslim community ????
this Muslim area is Leyton, East London. the capital city of England.
extremist or not, England/Britain is firstly for the British.. there can never be a compramise....
these people come here at our expence and DEMAND rights and privelages they would never get in their country of birth...
my mind boggles at what is expected from the government by these people..

He may as well be in league with the BNP.
funkymoped - at work tomorrow, have a chat with a Muslim colleague...you'll see the true face of Muslims in this country, not the twisted extremists who monopolise the news and give the rest of their community a bad name.
Don't get sucked into it.

To be absolutely factual the Muslims do occupy and control Leyton. The Muslim you refer to as a foreigner was in fact only voicing what the Leyton Muslims think. John Reid was very foolish to go there at all, and when confronted instead of trying to get the upper hand went weak at the knees and looked and sounded silly. The other day the Islamic Council issued the following Statement of Intent -
"We tell the Worshippers of the Cross (the British) that you and the rest of the West will be defeated. May God enable us to slit your throats and make your money and descendants the bounty of the mujahidin".
Much of Leyton and the foreigner who made a fool of John Reid presumably subscribe to this. Reid's duty for the British as a whole, his own dignity and the dignity of his office was to leap from the platform and grab the horror by the throat and show him who really runs Britain. Reid backed down, took fright and failed we British totally.

So do you agree that John Prescott's little rumble a couple of years back brought dignity to his office?
Or do you think he came across like a hot-headed thug?

I think the majority of muslims are peace loving and nice people. You get the few that shout "we muslim - we demand you British obey" and of course we British don't really care for that attitude at all. I don't like the fact that to placate them we have to forego christmas lights (it offends) certain words (it offends) because if we lived in their Country it would be "tough sh*t - adapt or get the hell out"
But the majority of muslims should not be penalised for the few who create and incite hatred. I was born and bred Leytonstone and am pleased to be out of the area as i could not adapt to the foreigners laws that they demanded I lived by. Am I racist? nope......do I hate muslims? nope....just sick of being told what to do and how to live my life and changing my life because it offends a different religion. We all simply have to adapt and not tar all with the same brush that the minority give the majority a bad name for.

noxlumos is dead right. That's why I asked about people's personal experiences. Don't believe what you read in the papers or see on TV (so you see one nutter - do you see the thousands who aren't?). Believe what happens to you in your own life. If nobody's refused to serve you a black coffee, just go on drinking it.
OK - I give up jno and sp cos I can't win!!! My sister-in-law is muslim (converterted English) so I have seceral conversations with her over this issue, and she is genuinley ashamed - it's the radicals who are calling the shots cos they get on the news. don't know what the answer is, and neither does she, so that is what we should be concentating on.
funky...you are british because you were probably born here. A large proportion of muslims were born here. They have as much right to say what they want to say. You somehow dont have more rights to this land than a 2nd generation muslim or any muslim with a british passport. Get your head around that and you will see it in a better light.
Also as pointed out in last nights question time by an elderly man in a very calm manner. he siad that it is very rich for the govenment of this land to ask muslims to calm things down here in this country when its troops have waged and are waging wars in 2 muslim lands.
