Why is it a disgrace?

It wasn't a disgrace before Jack Straw opened the debate on veils and it's not a disgrace now.

Seriously - there are so many more important issues relating to us and young Muslims that this veil this is threatening to eclipse.

We need to build bridges between Muslim and non-Muslim communities...do you really want things to get worse than they are now?

Im sorry but in a court of law I think you should at least show your face! I would rather represent myself than be represented by a woman in a veil, I have no problem if they want to wear them in normal situations and even in some circumstances at work. The whole idea behind the veil is that if we could see the woman under it us men wouldn't be able to keep our hands off lol, get over yourself sister!! (just kidding that bit for the no sence of humour crew!) Like I said before, welcome to Britanistan.

People in this country have withstood two world wars. We have survived the Cold War and we have survived three series of The X Factor.

What do you propose we do to counter 'the Muslim problem'?

Do you propose that women in veils be arrested and thrown in jail?

How do you think that will go down with the young Muslim men who already don't feel part of this country? Do you think it will radicalise them more, or de-radicalise them?

Seriously - we can go one of two ways - we can either declare open war on British Muslims, or we can work out what the heck we're going to do to ensure the safety of all our children (Muslim and non-Muslim).

This country is absolutely not being destroyed.

the difference between this and world war etc, is that this is an insidious creepeing cancer, a little bit, day by day, a bit more of our way of life and culture and identity is being sacraficed to make these people feel at home.

There is an old saying, "when in Rome do as the Romans do" there is only one country on earth where this saying does not apply and that country is Britain, because we are the only people in the world who dont have the intelligence to run our own country according to our own laws.

If immigrants dont want to conform to our laws they should be given free air tickets and escorted to the nearest airport.

Doesn't the fact a Moslem woman has trained and now works in the legal profession show she has made a considerable effort to integrate into a more western way of life?

She has not adopted the traditional role of women in many conservative Islamic societies and is making a contribution to our society.

The ability to hear a court official during proceedings is very important of course and if a barrister/solicitor cannot be heard, they are prejudicing the case of their client and will no doubt be dealt with by the law society should this occur.

Freedom of choice is one of the wonderful aspects of life in Britain and long may it continue. It doesn't mean however, we should expect to appreciate another individuals personal choices.To deny a person such a choice and enforce a bland uniformity on everyone is actually a very un-British trait and wreaks of Jonny Foreigner paranoia.

No, seriously. I don't agree with the veil, but surely we have to accept that these are beliefs. What's the alternative- do we force Christianity on everyone, seeing as the more right-wing among you insist that "we are a Christian country"? Maybe we should only let 7% of Muslims pray at mosques, set up at lapdancing club round the corner from mostly Muslim communitys, etc.?

That'll help 'em integrate!
