Loads of touchpapers to light here of course. For my part, I make no secret of my admiration for TB, and I have been pleased that my Prime Minister is a Christian. I expect it annoys the Islamic world no end, but hey-ho. What do you think ?

The bad news for the tree huggers is that Gordon Brown is also a Christian.

He's not aiming to be Pope as well?
Why would it bother anyone apart from Christians (and even then not most of them) if he moves from C of E to Roman Catholic.
I mean how much difference does it make to you whether Islamic political leaders move from Sunni to Shiite or vice versa?
I couldn't give a toss what religion anyone is, including Mr Bliar - it's no one else's business!

Well actually smudge, it is. The debate about whether or not religion should affect politics is constant. I think it should. I don't want to see a completely atheist and scornful populace dictating how the country acts. I really want to see Christian morals at the helm. Very old-fashioned I know, but then that's what I believe and is how I shall vote if there is a suitable candidate.

Is that reply meant for ruby too whiffey, or is it just for Smudge? Just wondering!

Smudge, oh heck it's meant for anybody. I would like my country driven by Christian values. It is too late though, I was just dreaming out loud.
I'm sure there'll be loads of folk amazed that we have a Protestant PM and a future Protestant PM in a Protestant country. Truely incredible!!!!!
That's okay Whiffey - I'm a Christian too, but admit to not attending Church as often as I should! Nite, nite!
Why do Christians think they have better morals than athiests?
Hmmm Christian morals - is that an oxymoron?

I guess Tony Blair would be right at home with another group who cover up all their problems and deny that a number of their vicars are paedophiles. In fact, not only did they know that their priests were committing hideous acts, they simply went on to move them to other areas.

For some reason it cut the rest of my post off!

Anyway, you get the point.

Don't you feel all warm and cosy knowing that Christians/ Catholics are the moral guardians of society
Let's say I was Christened, but am not a true Christian - I can't be 'cos I don't trust any man of the Church who wears a long robe & a silly hat! It's what's underneath it I worry about!

Blmey, I actually agree with you Oneeyedvic!
so do I smudge.
I fervently believe the world would be a better place without religion. It has been the root cause of no end of trouble.
Britain has never had a catholic P M btw.
Great point Kathyan, I would like to see it answered.

This man is a complete hyporcrite, so it makes no difference what religion he chooses to follow, he will still lie his way through life, while still refusing to apologise for all the blood he has on his hands.
Loads of touchpapers to light here of course.

Did you mean Tony Blair to become a Roman Catholic, or Roman Candle?

If you meant the latter, can I be first to light the touchpaper.
