wouldnt say it was a victory, as it wouldnt be a victory for those who said the parents didnt have anything to do with it or that the suspect from across the road , cant think of his name did, just an obsevation, rightly or wrongly about the way people behave in this kind of situation

I don't think I have seen any 'salivating' over this case at all.

Media coverage hasn't helped ~ and from the outset there were people on AB saying that media coverage would be detrimental to both the case and the McCanns.

Looks like they were right.

ive watche dthis from the start.
had misgivings about the family since philomena gave a press conference .she was soon shut away by family.
ive clashed on this subject with many .
boo in particular finds it unacceptable that the family may be involved somehow.
hard facts are they are along with robert murat the main suspects .
they are in fact the last people to see maddy alive that the police can talk to .
unless an abductor comes forward or is caught.

so only right they should be questioned .
as often as it takes if they know something.
if not then they should be glad to be helping in the inquiry

why have i been mentioned by you yet again Legend? I'm getting tired of having to defend my opinions when you chop them to pieces and merrily slap them elsewhere (yes, I'm aware you posted my threads in another forum)

To clarify my point of view, I said that I personally find it hard to believe that the parents had anything to do with Maddie's disappearance. I may be looking at it this way because I find it really really really difficult to think that any parent could do this to their child, or i could very well be looking at it from the view point that i don't want to believe they harmed her.

You know what's really odd about this case?

It's unimaginable that the parents killed her...and it's unimaginable that someone abducted her without a single witness seeing anything.

Considering these two points of view side by side....where does that leave the truth?

My guess is that this will never be resolved.

Could be wrong though...The Daily Express regularly tells everyone about new evidence, despite not having any contacts within the Portuguese police.

Maybe someone knowlegeable about police tactics may provide an answer. For instance if they suspect a murder by two accomplices, to get one to squeal on the other by arranging separate interviews may make one tell on the other to escape punishment? I don't know but I believe certain tactics exist.

I believe the British police to be superior to the the Portuguese but the same cannot be said for our press. Right up to today both newspapers and news websites alike print things like "police question Kate" as their headline before going into less sensationalist, more accurate info on their inner pages. Questioning someone does not mean there is a jot of evidence against or suspicion of them. The permutations of what has happened to Maddy are infinite so too the reasons for questioning the parents again.
Having said that, I still roundly condemn their stupidity and selfishness at leaving those children unsupervised.

As some one else said how many times has an imminant arrest by the police been on the cards.
They ain't half dragging their feet.
They only thing I can think of for it all is that they have been unable to find any solid evidence to point the finger fairly and squarly at any one.
It's so sad but I really don't think they are going to find her now.

The parents may have some insight as to who was in the bar that night or someother night and who could have slipped away, peoples memories sometimes need jogging,
