Ben Needham is still missing. and his mother didn't have the media hype that the Mccans have. The million pound funding. The huge sympathy thats surrounds the Madeline case.
Remember, they left their 3 tiny children while they went out enjoying themselves. In a large group of adults, plus they had a free childminding service available to them. As much as my heart goes out to them. we all have to remember that Madeline is the true victim here

Just a few questions:
1. For such loving parents, why were the children left in a creche all day (what were parents doing all day) then picked up At 6pm and put to bed an hour or so later (apparently sedated) so parents could go out...again...?
2. Why has the cuddly toy thats been carried around from day one been washed (according to papers)?
3. Why decide now to bring the other children home 'to some sort of normality'? I would have done that at the very beginning, rather have my other children with close friends and family than in a holiday creche....
4. Who the hell would go out for a beach jog?
5. Notihing in the media (until now) about the families they were with...
6. Suddenly they are suspects, suddenly they come home....
My gut feeling is they obviously loved their child, but something happened and its all gone out of control, far more than they could possibly imagine BUT I hope I am totally wrong, I want to see them say we knew the truth and held our own, and maybe, a very small maybe she comes home too.....I hope and pray x

bekka, you said that it was impossible for a parent to harm a child and then go and eat a meal with friend,s..why? rose west did it enough times!!! just because their a gp and a doctor does,nt mean they are better then everyone else or less capable of harming their own child..make them both take lie detector test,s and see what the result,s are..also the friend,s they were with on the night need to be spoken to again.....im sorry but lots of things don,t add up!!
Either way, no one on here, or any of the media can say who did or did not take or do anything with Maddie.
I wonder if the same high profile of the case though would have happened if she had simply disappeared at a B and B in Leicester rather than in the sunshine of a holiday resort abroad?
I do find though this 'anger' that the parents could have had anything to do with her disappearance as a little naive. Many killers in the past have put a lot of effort in helping investigations, going out of their way etc to take the heat off them. Maybe this case has simply got out of control. If they had done something, and you were them, would you admit it...now..after everything that has happened with pope visits etc!?
Ultimately, none of us know anything. Maybe Maddie will be found safe and sound in a local Nunery and then reunited with her parents. Maybe she won't, but whatever evidence the police have, the truth will be told in due course, I'm sure of that.

I'm not going to speculate.
I believe they are both guilty of the disapperance of maddie.
THEY were the last to see maddie before her disapperance, so naturally they would become suspects if the police had nothing to go on.
This has become one big circus, and i'm actually beginning to believe that the Mc Canns are starting to enjoy the publicity.
As a parent myself, i find it impossible how the Mc Canns are so calm etc, if i was being accused of the disapperance of one of my sons, i would be fuming, they are just acting ''to cool'' for my liking
And why if maddie was abducted, the the abducter not take the opportunity to take one or both of the twins as well, it would of been a high risk for someone to take a child in such a busy complex without someone seeing them, so maddie being under sedation if a possibility, something dosen't add up, and now all roads are leading back to the Mc Canns, they wanted the media attention, now they are asking for privacy, this i'm afraid they will not get, because whilst questions are unanswered, we all including myself become ''detective'' thats how it goes in life whether you like it or not.

I don't think that it's bad parenting to leave your children asleep in their beds for a couple of hours while you have a meal with friends over the road. Remember the little girl who was abducted out of the bath? Were her parents bad because they left her alone for a couple of minutes? I got lost in Tesco as a 6 year old when my Mum turned her back and had to be handed in to the counter for collection. Was she a bad parent? When I went on holiday with my brother, we used to routinely get tucked up in bed, and then my parents would got to the restaurant to enjoy themselves. Quite right too. It's tough being a Mum or a Dad, and having that time to yourselves as a couple is important. Weighed up against the risk of abduction which is negligable I'm happy to take that risk. If you're that concerned about them getting injured I wouldn't bother ever putting them in the car if I were you. Tie your children to your apron strings by all means, but don't be surprised when they grow up terrified of the world.
A couple of points without too much speculation.

The person who made a statement to the police about hearing one of the children crying two nights before she went missing was an English lady, in her seventies, who lives in the apartment above the McCanns. She said the child was crying and shouting for her Daddy for a considerable time. It only stopped when someone arrived home. This was around 10.45 pm.
To suggest as some have on here that the Portugese police have made up the evidence is ludicrous. I'm sure the Director of the Forensic Lab. would have something to say if their results were being misrepresented.
Relatives have said they are devoted parents. Rubbish. Devoted enough to leave them in the creche all day, collect them at six and out again a couple of hours later with friends.
Abduction from a dwelling place, by a stanger, is extemely rare and a considerable risk to the offender in this scenario. In the Cardiff case the offender knew the family and his initial reason for visiting was to try and renew contact, planning to abuse the child later. The opportunity to snatch her was there and he took it.

Can't agree with you at all. Too many other dangers for children of this age without help being close at hand. It's all been said on here many times before.

supernick, without a doubt of course its bad parenting to leave your children alone to go out and enjoy yourself, if you have children then you have a commitment to them, if you want ot go out and enjoy yourself then by all means do but make sure that your children are safe and secure with someone you can trust. getting lost in tesco is completely different from this case, turning your back for a second and a child running away is not the same as putting your children to bed and then going out for hours on end to enjoy yourself
It wouldnt be my personal choice but I see where Nick is coming from. ^ child abductions a year of this nature. Millions of children. Its hardly a likely to happen is it. He ahs righty pointed out that children are far more likely to die in a car accident, or maybe even drown or die from a choccie bar with traces of nuts in.
However as a parent you are duty bound to care and protect your children. Abduction would have been the last thing on my mind as I headed out the door. Illness, fire or just them being generally distressed at waking and finding themselves alone would have been my prime concerns.
We are basically talking about 3 toddlers. Not a 7,9 and 11 year old that would have some comprehension on how to escape a fire or hw to use a phone if one of them was ill. Incidentally I cant see me leaving my 7,9 or 11 year old to go and have a meal.

You really have to be monumentally thick to criticise the McCanns for seeking publicity or to snipe at the so-called media circus/hype.
They didn't generate publicity for the fun of it. They did it to make people aware that their daughter was missing and to increase the chances of her being found.
I mean, if you can't get your head round that, you're really quite special.

NJOK.
If you are referring to me {i hope your not} being think, i suggest that an apology might be in order.
My view is just one of many regarding this case, i will stick by my theory regarding the Mc Canns thankyou very much, but throwing insults at me and no one else shows that you are just targeting an individual {me}, not that i'm bothered about your comments, you are just trying to get a reaction from me, one thinks that you've made yourself look quite silly
Now you can apologise
