what do others think ?
It really makes my blood boil to read yet another "millionaire" is funding the McCanns! Why are they so special in terms of being parents of missing children? What about all the other missing children? Why do they deserve everyones pity when others are long forgotten? What about the �1m in the Madeleine fund that they "wont" or "cant" use? Is that in a high interest rate account somewhere earning lots of interest to be creamed off?They both have jobs Why don't they go back to work and earn some money like all the others

She left her children alone. I find if she can make a decision like that over something so precious, then I would question her doctoring ability.

I, for one, will be grateful for a resolution to this tragic story.
If for no other reason than to spare us the sanctimony of a surprisingly large and voluble number of ABers.
I'm not sufficiently certain that I would have left my child/ren in the evenings as Kate and Gerry are supposed to have done........however, we have only the stories being drip-fed from an increasingly beleaguered Portugese police force via a salivating scoop-hungry international press from which to infer this......to pass judgement on their actions on the days leading up to and including 3rd May.
But, by God ! what a lesson hard learnt........!
Is it really the general assumption that they now deserve everything they are getting ? Are we so hardened that we can't find a little humanity to try and feel a little of what they are feeling ? Are we so jealous of their reasonably comfortable living standards that we reserve our sympathy for less high-acheivers ?
Have the 'grumps' lost sight of the fact that (hopefully) there is a little girl out there, albeit one who is scared to death, missing her Mummy, Daddy, brother and sisters, gandparents and her beloved cuddle cat.............
She is, or should be, the focus of our efforts and I suspect that Kate and Gerry are willing to sacrifice themselves on the altar of 'Bad Publicity' rather than have the story slip away to pages 4 and 5 of our newspapers and then becoming Madeline Who ?
I really don't think that the ills of society can be laid at their door and throwing 'other lost children' or the ubiquitous 'children needing operations' soundbites actually brings anything to this particular story.
Perhaps the monied benefactors are sufficiently sure of the McCanns innoncence, dismayed at the shabby treatment of them both by the Portuguese authorities and DO possess the milk of human kindness (so conspicuous by its absence from this type of posting) to offer all the assistance they can.

There is no supposedly about them leaving those children alone. That is fact.

I think doctors are very unlikely to sedate their kids. They know the dangers of overdosing and the correct dosage so how could they possibly have killed her in this way. Also there are reports ( although i don't believe them) of Madeleine crying. Well she wouldn't have been crying if she were sedated.
I cannot even contemplate what it is like to lose a child. They deserve all the help they can get.

I know its not exactly the same thing but my daughter had her child snatched from her my his grandmother while she was ill in hospital. Since then my daughter has had to work all the hours god sends and more to pay for his up keep and still the woman makes it difficult for her to see her own son.
My daughter has to work to pay a solicitor as she earns jsut enough not to qualify for help but hardly enough to hire a solicitor.

If she has 'gone' her pain and misery will have ended, and I for one raise thanks for that.
Her parents will never know any peace and for that they have my sympathy. A silly decision, they may have made, but they certainly never believed it would have the consequences it did................I just wish you could find a tiny place in your heart for them.

A lot of people have said that they know the McCanns are innocent and could never have killed their child. I would like to know how they know this for certain? It has happened before where relatives (sometimes parents) have appeared on TV appealing for information regarding the death of a member of their family, only to be charged later for their murder! Why is it so unbelievable that they could have done it? What makes the McCanns so special?

I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that the children were in one place and the adults in another.............Kate and Gerry obviously thought (incorrectly as it transpired) that the circumstances were such that this was NOT an unreasonable thing to do.
If the McCanns weren't being treated as suspects they wouldn't have to have legal representatives and thus a 'fighting fund' which is now starting to overshadow the more important 'For God's sake, Portuguese authorities, get your thumbs out of your ar$es and start looking for this little girl like you should have done in the first place' fund.
