The police denied all charges, but the prosecution claimed that Scotland had made a string of errors and the jury agreed.

Let's just nail the lie that Menezes was here illigally. It was stated by the Immigration office at this trial that:

"He wnt to Ireland in April 23, 2005, but there was no record of when he then came to the UK. As a person entering Britain from Ireland he would have had an automatic three month leave to remain which at the earliest would have run out on July 23, 2005, the day after he was killed.

So he was NOT HERE ILLEGALLY

What I was trying to say was, as the police really weren't sure whether or not they had their man, they should have given him the benefit of the doubt before firing 'real' bullets into a completely innocent man's head!

Stunning & debilitating a 'suspect' first, must be better than killing first hand - unless of course the police & general public were in real danger - which they were not in this case.

Poor bloke! As for the police, if they really suspected he was a terrorist with a bomb, why did they not take him out before he got on to the tube, or even before he went into the station? A monumental c**ck-up, and it will happen again, and no I do not feel safe at all. I sometimes feel I am living in a cess pit. No respect for the law, no morals, no hope.

Great Stuff. Here is the obvious solution:

1) Sack Ian Blair because only SACKINGS will placate Joe Public.
2) Indict the entire British Police Force
3) Canonise JCM as a Saint and erect a statue
4 Appoint Brazilian security experts to all senior positions in British security systems. They are expert at it.
5) Emigrate. Britain is f****d

Why do people always threaten to emigrate. And more to the point, why do they never do it. The United Kingdom is a fantastic place to live. I think it is brilliant, unique, beautiful and without doubt a wonderful part of the planet.

I wish I had a pound for everytime a whinging unpatriotic Daily Mail reader threaten to leave the country. I only wish there was a lottery fund to expediate their emigration. The place would be a lot better without them.

After watching the cctv footage of him entering the station surely they could have bundled him to the ground and arrested him
I think the whole thing is one almighty c0ck up, but given the circumstances and the recent events that happened the police went in there convinced he was a terrorist and shot him

As for emigrating, nah..move to the countryside it`s so much better than living in a town or city

I think something like this will happen again. It is an unfortunate by-product of the hightened security.

the 'lighter' end of it is some numpty getting arrested at an airport for saying the word 'bomb'.
the heavier end is something like what happened to jcm.

regarding bundling him to the ground and arresting him.
If he had been a terrorist suicide bomber then there wouldn't have been time to do it. When these suicide rigs are set up, they are wired so that the person can set the bomb off even when bundled to the ground.
If you're going to take one down, you do it so their brain can't process the thought to squeeze a trigger or press a button.

Regarding that Ian Blair fellow, when asked to resign he announces, he has no intentions of resigning.

What is it with these high flyers, why are they given the choice? In the real world if one makes a large mistake or is completely incompetent as in his case, then one is given no choice and is sacked forthwith.

I'm afraid it is not unusual for wealthy people to leave the country. I think all the other British racing drivers live abroad in Monaco, Monte Carlo, Isle of Man in Mansels case. Blaming he fans for bothering him as an excuse is a poor show that is what I don't like.

It is unusual for the Met Chief to have such a cosy relationship with the Home Office and Government. It is fair to say Ian Blair a labourite. In a different age he would have done the honourable thing and resigned, but these days, the fashion is to ride out the storm.
