A psychologist is being paid by the taxpayer - the incredible amount of money to make the murderer feel relaxed and stress-free. Her bill has already come to around 30,000. Do you think this is justified?

I've just read the Wikipedia entry on Barry George.

I'm actually shocked that the man was put away.

It all sounds deeply dodgy.
GS - Always good to have you on board!

Kudos to Gromit for trying to get this thread back on track.

How can I bad mouth something I can't stomach 'lorve'?
... as is the Daily Mail editor, Gromit.

If the case is unsafe and is freed soon after the payment for head massages will be dwarfed by compensation payments for wrongful arrest and imprisonment.

Couldn't we just ask the Serbs if they were responsible for Jill Dandos murder?
I agree with Gromit

The DM is trying to portray a relationship using the term 'friend' and implying intimacy. Its a Dr/Client relationship for goodness sake.

Also why do newspapers report on hair colour blonde, brunette, or redhead when its a women, especially for accuracy sake most should probably described as sort or mid brown, now going to grey.

Does the male ever get described in such a way?

,
500 a day? Didn't anyone have the sense to shop around? The person who decided to engage this psychologist is the one who needs the head massage.
500 is a guess by the Mail. The true figure will be less.

Court employees and experts are not subject to a competative tendering process.

As I pointed out earlier, to focus on the clinical psychologist and her pay and hair colour is to miss the point entirely.
Court employees and experts are not subject to a competitive tendering process? Well, they ought to be as it's public money they're spending.
If you are trying to prove your innocence, do you want the cheapest expert or the best expert?

If someone goes to prison who should not be there because the expert was no good, then the state and the tax payer will waste far more than a few hundred quid.
Gromit, we're talking about hiring someone to do a head massage - not about hiring the finest lawyers or the finest legal experts in the country. 500 is a lot of money to pay for a head massage. How long does it take? Half an hour - or an hour maybe? Nice work if you can get it.
