Surely if they were doing it in the privacy of his own room, and they were both consenting, no crime was commited?

Guess he just wanted a ride on the local bike.

I don't really see the problem... well I do but different strokes and all that... Don't think it was a legal matter.
This is absolutely ridiculous.

Why on earth has he been plced on the sex offenders register? before we can say 'paediatrician' this guy will be hunted down and beaten up for being a sex pest.

No crime was commited. Ludicrous.
It had no bell -

The highway code states that all cycles must have a bell fitted.
legally speaking, it may be that if it's a hostel it's not 'his own room'. I must say, though, I thought Scottish cleaners were made of sterner stuff.
Was it a Chopper?
Well my reaction if I were a cleaner would have been to have closed the door quickly and then have a good giggle about it. For goodness sake he was acting in the privacy of his own room in the hostel.

i can't believe he was taken to court. Have the legal authorities nothing better to do?
Apparently he was just putting air in his tyres
He could have made up the excuse that he was cleaning his room, in the nude, and fell onto the bike.

Isn't that what most people say?

To think I was considering moving to Scotland..
We all know about your kilt fetish lol
Maybe the person who sold it to him told him it was a Mounting Bike.

I'll get my coat
No mention off gear kn*bs either please
'Accidents' like this whilst wearing a kilt must be common in Scotland, Rev.

If they aren't they darned well should be.
Was he attempting 'to pull a wheelie'?
Yeah but what about dirty sweaty fat blokes Pip.

They can't all be fit loike what I am
Suppose it is what he did after the door was opened that counts.

Still ludicrous that he should be on the SOR though
Question Author
"Stewart had denied the offence, claiming it was caused by a misunderstanding after he had too much to drink."

Now, was that a misunderstanding between him and the cleaners, or him and the bike?

I must know.
Everyone's entitled to a bit of nookie, Rev..even with a bike.
Amen to that....

Bit like the old fat bird and moped thing
I've just been reliably informed that there was someone in the papers recently for having sex with a pavement too. There are an awful lot of special people about at the moment.

Personally I think that bike looks well dirty so it must have been a misunderstanding with the cleaners.
According to this the cleaners were 'terrified'

If they were so terrified why didn;t they just leg it? after all it appears that they stood and watched him for a while..
