Woman banned from New Zealand because she is too fat

A British woman and her husband were excited to be starting a new life together in New Zealand. She however, has been forced to remain at home because she has been told she is too fat and is a potential burden on their healthcare system. What do you think? Does New Zealand have the right idea?

Sorry for joining the debate late but only just come in from work. My parents wanted to move to Australia in the 50s but my sister had been diagnosed with epilepsy. They were given the same reason. My sister has not had a fit since she was 5 and she is 51 now. The rules have clearly been in place for many many years.

Jake, It said he "Was" well over 25, I took that to mean he lost some wait to get back to 25, ie the 2 inches. Anyway as you say it is ambiguous and they do not give a clue to how large the lady is.
