This week, the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offended' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred.

This is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.

Someone sent this to me. I no longer live in England, please tell me this ain't true.

This type of question is posted on AB regularly and may be an 'urban myth'

I didn't realise either! How uncultured we will become if this keeps up! We can't change history!
Hmmm, its true.
Apparently they are also taking out of the curriculum some baking dishes in home economics class.
You are no longer allowed to make gingerbread men, incase it upsets certain minorities.
Also, i hear that in music class they are discontinuing the use of the tom tom drum, incase it offends certain minorities.
There are lots more things they are 'phasing out' but i dont really wanna bore you...
Always check the dates on things. This first started circulating in Spring '07 and I can assure you from one of my best friends who is a head of history at a comprensive, all they ever teach is WWII and the holocaust. Practically every year is taught it as his school, so kids go over it year on year.

There is only evidence that 1 school ever actually did take it off the syllabus, and for what it's worth I think that it is totally incorrect to do so. However, please note that it was a single daft school and this is not something to over-react to.
Sadly, there will be multiple postings below this about how muslims are taking over the country, or saying "Even if this isn't true, what about all the other things they do....". And then a couple of months down the line people will have forgotten that this isn't true and start bringing it up in conversation about how the bl00dy muslims stopped our kids from being caught. And thus the pointless cycle of mis-trust continues
*taught rather than caught. ahem
Very well said, Nick.
How does this keep coming up. People keep posting this here and have done for about a year on probably a monthly basis. It's not true. Is there an email circling or something?
what is this country coming to?

Is video and photographic evidence nor personal experience of the holocaust not good enought for these animals?

Bring back Black bags, Black Boards and Golly ****
I would say that I am Muslims and I have no problem if someone is or going to teach about Holocaust at schools. I can not think why Muslims would have problem with it anyway. Were Muslims involved in the real matter anyhow. Please let me know.
Well if this's true - I wonder why my son's learning about the basic facts of the Holocaust at school right now!
The article doesn't mention muslims, of course, but that would have spoilt your vicious little rant. So bravo you for simply ignoring it. Nobody will ever notice.
Are you going to ignore the actual facts spaced?
spaced, do you mean *********? If you do, why not say it? Everyone nowadays is so frightened of using such words in perfectly innocent contexts. Sad, sad, sad!
Oh dear, my answer above has been amended by the Thought Police! Sadder, sadder, sadder!!

It can't be said too often: No, Brionon, it's NOT true. Use the link Kempie posted above, everybody, and remember to be always sceptical of these stories. I have never found any "political correctness gone mad" story to be substantiated by evidence or even contain a solid reference to an actual, identifiable event.
I got this in an email some months ago, and posted it on here,
After being shown that it was an oldie, And also told that it was never on the Curriculum, I did some checking, and thats right, it never has been. although it may well be in Jewish schools.
Sorry Lonnie - it DOES seem to be on the curriculem, and my son's been learning about it in RE, as well as a passing mention in history lessons. We don't use a jewish school either.
What do you mean, Lonnie? The Holocaust isn't on the UK curriculum? That's not true! I say again, use the link kempie posted.
