Question Time (Baby P)

I watched this verbal exchange between Brown and Cameron this lunchtime, and it became obvious to me that Labour showed their true colours.
Brown accused Cameron of playing party politics with the issue, which Cameron had not. When he asked Brown to opologise, he skirted round the request and David Cameron never got the apology he was entitled to.
This is typical of the Left they are never gentleman enough to admit when they are wrong. And they will defend their own to the end, in this case Haringey Council.
Will other join me regardless of their personal political leanings, in stating that Cameron made a perfectly reasonable request to Brown, regarding this tragic case?

Whether it be dead babies or dead soldiers, this man hasn`t got a clue, the sooner he goes the better
As for jnos comments about Brown losing a child and them both having handicapped children...that has nothing to do with a child being beaten to death

Your anti Brown/ Labour Government point of view is consistent and well known here abouts.
It must be a sign of desperation then, that you chose to try and further your anti leftie views by exploiting the brutal murder of a baby by an evil scumbag.
I suppose when Cameron sees his popularity rating plummet 24% in the opinion polls and that he hasn't a clue about the world financial crisis, and his lame duck shadow chancellor, waiting for the chop in the next reshuffle, has no idea on how to help our economy, then to try and capitalise on the death of Baby P is probably safer ground.
When Fred West was arrested in the early 90s for raping and murdering his children, the opposition at the time were never crass enough to blame the Prime Minister. To have done so would have been a low and opportunist act.

The usual Leffie answer.
First you accuse me of playing party politics, when I was making a perfectly true comment on what happened in the House on Wednesday.
A carbon copy of the answer that Brown gave to Cameron, when he tried to ask for some action over a case that has horrified the whole nation.
Is it in your opinion that this case should not have been aired in the House? In my opinion this was an ideal time regardless who happened to be in power at the time.
Your comparison between the total inability of Child services to act over this case, way before this little tot horrifically died, and the Fred West case is totally idiotic.
Regarding Cameron blaming Brown for this child's murder, is a complete figment of your imagination, Cameron was only asking the Prime Minister what action he was taking over the matter.
I now leave the rest of the ABers to make up their minds on limp wrist stance you have taken over this very serious matter Gromit, just for the sake of somehow protecting your political master.

Surely David Owen did not have anyone in mind when this story was resurrected a couple of days ago?

You litter you question and answer with references to 'Labour showed their true colours', 'Typical of the left' and 'the usual Leftie answer' and then you claim you were not being political.
Here is a long list of children who have died while under Social Services supervision. There is the case of Kennedy MacFarlane who died in very similar circumstances to Baby P. He was punch and killed by his mother's boyfriend. Did the Leader of the Opposition asked questions in Parliament about Kennedy Macfarlane? Were questions asked about all the other children in the above list?
Maybe it wasn't politically expedient for the Leader of the Opposition to ask about all those other children.
Lastly, if anyone truly believes that a question asked at Prime Ministers Question Time is not political is very naive. Ultimately, the Speaker of the House is empowered to make an MP or PM apologise if they have made a false accusation. The speaker did not ask Brown to apologise.

I look forward to Cameron bringing this case up at the next PMQs

Oh dear I did not realise that left were so stuck into their own political agenda, to even admit in this case that their politics are completely so depraved that they prepared to forgo any reasoning whatsoever over this poor childs death.
Yes I do know the difference between the Left and the Right, This is an example of the Left, their councils, their Goverment and their supporters.

I'm with Gromit, I saw it and I felt ashamed to see the subject brought up in such a fashion. I cant really see where an apology was deserved, how can you know that he wasn't playing party politics? Because he's a decent chap, if it had been ANY politician, I would have assumed it to be a low blow.
I think everyones efforts would be spent thinking about how they personally might help this from never happening again. Keep an eye on odd behaviour from your neighbours. Speak up or report when something isnt right. Become a support parent for homestart (really its not as daunting or as time consuming as you may think, helping out a mum suffering from PND is my main role). Socail workers cant do right no matter what they do, its a difficult job, not enough of them and very hard to get things right.

Spot on goody - I don't know yet whether the council was as fault here or not, but at the end of the day we are all human beings and unfortunately we all make mistakes - most of us are fortunate enough in that those mistakes we make in our job don't result in a death, but equally we don't try to make out that it is the prime ministers fault. We need to remember that the people at fault here are the people who killed that innocent child and as a society we all bear the guilt that we have allowed that to happen - not just politicians and social services.
'Speak up and report when something isn't right....'
presumably to those in the professions who didn't do half enough in Baby P's case Goodsoulette.
'..as a society we all bear the guilt that we have allowed that to happen...'
well, excuse me, but those employed by Councils to provide care and protection for vulnerable children, and adults, are the ones who should bear the guilt. I am not saying we in society should do nothing, but these professions were created and exist because they are needed and should be effective. In every case......
