As for what to do when these people are released, whether we like it or not they are considered to have paid their debt to society. People who bay for their blood are no better in my opinion.

Unfortuantly Red they won't sterilize her.
Thats against her human rights even if she though she isn't one.
It won't be her thats picked on etiher. It will be all those other unfortuantes who just happen to look like her.
And as in the case of Jamie's killers and Maxine Carr after a short while she will be forgotten by the media and the idiot brigade will stop looking for her.
The money will be soaked up by the very people that let down her child so badly. Social services. The probation office will get a lot of it as well as any officers the police will put aside just to answer her screams should any one find out where she is.
