Israel, Gaza and Barak Obama

It is fair to say that Israel has been under provocation from Hamas since the ceasefire ended last week. It is also fair to say that Israel's retaliation has been excessive, indiscriminate and out of proportion to the threat.

Do you think Israel decided on a full scale military operation before President in waiting Obama is in the White House in a few weeks time. Do you think the US will unequivocally support similar Israel Military Operations in future?

Not really thought about Gromit, been too busy picking up bargains. A couple of hundred killed in Gaza I see, not a nice Christmas present. The sales are getting just as dangerous, women were fainting in the rush.

I feel that Hammas are hellbent on trying to destroy Israel and their own people in the process. No matter what concessions the Israelis allow them or the deprivations they suffer they are still able to buy or manufacture rockets to fire into Israel.
Surely this cost and effort would be better used in improving the lot of their people.
Regarding Barrack Obama I think this middle east crisis will be low down on his list of priorities, he will be expected to put his "own house in order " first.

I think Hillary Cinton has been a strong Israel supporter, and now she is becoming secretary of state (the equivalent of foreign secretary). I think she was the wrong choice, for that reason; the US is the only country in a position to be influential yet impartial, but it isn't going to be. Still, she could prove me wrong.

Maybe we can have peace in the region if Israel retreated to the borders before the 6 day war and that includes the Golan Heights. But the greedy b?ggers that they are, Israelis are only interested in state expansion. Maybe they are taking lessons from the US administration who still insist on global expansion and domination. And I'm expressing these comments as a neutral observer and probably how it appears to the sane amongst us.

Another side to the argument is that Israel are our only reliable friendsin the region.

That's right rov1200 they are only interested in state expansion. So they hand over a chunk to the Palestinians. Their reward? Gaza is used as a launch pad for daily missile attacks.

Perhaps they should react to attacks on their people like this country reacts to people who assault it's ciizens and give them an ASBO. That'll teach the naughty chaps a lesson.

I really don't see why you are bringing Gaza into this. Surely we should allow him to recover from his alcoholism and mental problems in peace.

As for Hammas, I see they've just beaten Stoke City 2-1.

I know this is the pantomine season, but It amazes me how some people expect President in waiting Obama when he comes to power, to wave some sort of magic wand over world affairs and for everthing to be sorted out.

You can take it from me that once he is in office nothing much will change, especially in the middle east, (Israel in particular). America is run by the Jews, so it won't be in it's interest to upset Israel.

Incidently where is the `great` Middle East Envoy Tony Blair while all this is happening, or is he too busy making even more dosh on the speaking circuit ?

There is no apostrophe in 'its' as used in :

It's means 'it is', its means that something belongs to it.

Next time you write 'its' or 'it's', say to yourself, could I say 'it is'. If not then 'its' is the correct version.
