Yesterday! What can we expect in the future?

Interesting to note that the police didn't dive in hard, when the Islamists protested during an Army march in Luton earlier this year, in fact if one looks at the picture there doesn't seem many around at all.

Well, extremism on either side is a bad thing I am sure you will agree.

Not sure what we can do about it though.

Is it much different to a Celtic / Rangers match?

Sadly there are a minority of people who will try and pick a fight no matter what
I'm sure that these mindless thugs aren't representative of the vast majority of law-abiding Brits.

Although one might reasonably argue that every Brit who doesn't condemn the violent actions of this group is giving them their tacit approv...

...hang on!

Why does that sound familiar???
The last picture on the web site (with the green flags) is enough to make you cry.

While that picture would be fine if it came from Iran or Iraq, to think it is on the streets of the UK just shows you how low this country has sunk.

That's because, as far as I know, none of the Islamists - despicable though I think their message was - broke off from the escorted route and started causing trouble. All of those arrested in this case seem to have come from the group that did so, and the main group appear to have been left alone.

Police are always present at such protests - just 'cause they're not in the picture, doesn't mean they're not there.
VHG - would you think the same if you saw a Christian group processing down the street?

After all, the history of this country is Pagan in origin.

Presumably every Christmas you 'weep' about how the Pagan festival of Winterfest has been perverted into Christianity?
anotheoldgit - Are you sure that the picture with green flags is what you think it is? Because as far as I can see and what it says on those flags (I can read the language) it seems like that they are celebrating the birthday of Muhammad (pbuh).

I am sure if they had to protest then the message would definitely have been in English so the others could read and understand it. Just like this.

You flipping genius!!!

I didn't even clock that. That second picture isn't of a protest at all!

Hilarious.

AOG...come on, you're going to have to do better next time.
AOG,

Sorry, you are victim of the Mail's sloppy journalism again. The photo you used was not taken in Luton, and was not the rabble abusing soldiers.

the real Luton Protestors can be seen here...

I am sure this was a genuine mistake by the Mail. They have obviously used any old photo of muslim protestors, and did not try and pass it off as the actual protestors. And, reassuringly, there appears to be plenty of Police officers keeping an eye on things in the photo taken in Luton that day.

I have been on my holidays, so I would have corrected this obvious error earlier.
HI Gromit - hope you had a great holiday.
AOG

Apologies...I didn't realise that the second photo was a DM mistake.

Looking at it closer, it dosn't look like a protest at all...looking at the banners - looks more like a religious celebration.

Those aren't slogans on the banners.

Welcome back Gromit.

Thank you for your pictures keyplus and Gromit.

What is the matter with the Daily Mail? It seems they are trying to dampen the muslin's protest down. If they had printed those two pictures it would have had a much more impact.

Who are they to call our brave troops butchers, this is ripe coming from the most beastly religion in the whole world. To think that perhaps some day these same troops may be called upon to protect them and their families.

The likes of these cowardly traitors should never be in this country. Fly them over to Iraq and Afghanistan then kick them out of the plane, for our troops have a go at them there. It's a fact that nobody is allowed to have a go at them in this country, thanks to our mealy mouthed politicians.

Hello AOG, Had a great holiday,

The picture the Daily Mail printed showed representatives from the whole (male) community: children, young men, old men, disabled. It showed many people complete with flags with squiggly foreign writing. The image portrayed was that the whole community was abusing the soldiers, and not just an handful of nutters which we can see in the second photo.

The Mail's false photo will upset the AOGs of this world who think we have been invaded, more than the true photo where we see just four bearded extremists with placards in english.

I am sure the Mail wouldn't deliberately print a more provocative false picture on purpose just to make its readers blood boil.

Well I will put it to the vote of the AOGs of this world/site.

Which photo got your blood boiling the most the one of the Muslims flying their flags, or the ones with the bearded scum bag traitors holding up their offensive placards?

Incidentally I see you chose to use the photo that Keyplus posted instead of the one you posted Gromit. Could it be because there are many more than just four bearded extremists with placards in your photo.

Sloppy posting Gromit, or does the photo Keyplus posted fit your argument better?

Its very simple. Daily Mail could have easily thought about few things and had avoided this mistake.

When people go on protest, last thing they want is to elderly and disabled in wheel chair with them as well as children as young as has popped his head through car's sun roof just above the man on wheelie. Even if they had decided not to have stayed behind then at least they wouldn't have been right at the front.
It's a fact that nobody is allowed to have a go at them in this country.

But you do quite regularly. As do plenty of other people on this site.

Just today, I was having my hair cut and a chap in the seat next to me was quite happily spouting off about muslims.

To a less blunt degree, so do the Express/The Sun (and sometimes the Mail).
AOG,

I was looking at the picture I linked to, but I can see only four people on both photos. There may have been a few more that were not in those shots

Whether there were 4 or 6 or 8, it is not the huge crowd as shown in the Mails false picture.

It turns out the Mail had the right photo all along.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1162 030/PETER-HITCHENS-What-expect-treat-nation-co ntempt.html

I wonder how they erroneously used the picture of the large menacing crowd instead of the half dozen wallies?

Yes I see what you mean, best not have children right at the front of a protest, but then what is this? Bottom left of the picture.

Absolutely disgusting, but then I suppose life is cheap to them.

Gromit
Four, now you have increased it to six, should you go to specsavers, or have you come off your hols with sand in your eyes?

The numbers don't matter, it doesn't take one from the fact that the one depicting those traitors insulting our forces is the most infuriating of the two, and the Mail would have done better if they had used this one when reporting the story of the white Luton protesters.

It would have put the matter more into perspective, of why the White's had been driven to this extreme action.
Much more than a picture of a few more Muslims flying flags that mean nothing to us, could ever do.
AOG

That is a hindu child of a Tamil Tiger supporter protesting about the Sri Lanka.

I suppose life is cheap to them.

Did you mean life is cheap to Hindus, or Islamists or did you just mean Asians collectively?
