It's 'their' money as well as 'ours' - they are taxpayers too.

And you can't get a classroom for £100K, let alone a chain of schools.

As to whether it 'should' happen, pass
I am not in favour of religiously run schools whether like these or CoE or Catholic. They do nothing for integration.

However, the story is a bit tenuous and guilty by association. A registered charity got this money (the charity must be passed as fit and proper by the Charity Commision). It turns out that some trustees belong to another group. This is like saying if a Council has BNP councillors and that council runs schools, then all the children will be Nazis.
Makes you think the people who are holding the purse strings have strong affiliations to these rebel groups. Otherwise how could anyone justify spending taxpayers money on groups like these. And we wonder why people risk their lives to get into Britain when they see a pot of gold at the other end of the rainbow.

Don't we employ auditors any more?

You where almost on the ball Gromit.

I would have said that the council awarded the money on the basis of their own political agenda, so no opposition from the Left.

What then if the Council was BNP run? Yes just as you have said, cries of "training Nazis" go out.
And we wonder why the BNP is gathering pace ?

Thanks Bottler and of course Jack 'man of' Straw for your legacy.
