Overseas students are said to be the biggest contributor to our immigration figures. Its well known that overseas students use the education route to come to Britain and stay after their studies have finished.

It is usually students attending the 'English Language Colleges' operating over a High Street Travel Agents, and the like, who are the over-stayers..........

It 's a start, but I can't help thinking there is the opportunity for dodgy degrees to be handed out.

Most of them have false degrees but they still get in to work in KFC and car washes!!!

Considering the fact that a large proportion of our own university applicants are finding it increasingly difficult to get places, perhaps it would be a start to put a freeze on foreign applications.

65% of foreign applications from oversea students especially from India have the intelligence of a 15/16 year old from the UK and their diplomas are either false or they have been to a college that would never be accepted here in the UK.
You only have to watch TV programmes like UK Border Force, when they are asked how they got their student visa etc.

You are right about this jackthehat but hopefully this new government have stopped these abuses as many of them were bogus

This is an old chestnut Gromit. These foreign doctors are probably depriving English trained doctors from employment as AIG says. Maybe you think our medical schools are not producing enough doctors?
