How on earth have these thuggish savages been allowed to walk free?

Should there now be an appeal on behalf of the victim, against the leniency of their sentence, and if the appeal is won , then the Judge should be struck off.?

/// Judge Geake said he had taken into account the attackers’ ages, remorse and the fact they had pleaded guilty.///

All the more reason for a stiff sentence, they were all over 18, and they themselves admitted guilt, so no danger that they had got the wrong men.

Regarding remorse, they should have their evil deeds, hanging over them for the rest of their lives.

They did it because they were 'bored'. They wouldn't be bored if they'd got a year in jail and were suffering similar treatment to that they meted out.

VHG I am so sorry to hear about your son's experience with those so called 'drinking partners', I only hope that something even more harrowing befalls them in time.

I do hope it has not dissuaded your son from having his quiet pint, I also hope that he realises that everyone aren't like those thugs he encountered on his last visit, and he goes on to meet some proper friends.
Unbelievable!

If anyone protests against the 'flog 'em!' brigade on here, there is virtuall warfare, and if not, they waste their time congratulating each other on how self-righteous they are!

Anyone with an ounce of compassion and common decency can see that this sentence, and the actions that preceeded it, are unacceptable, but just because your detested 'lefties' do not swoop in to 'defend' these reptiles does not give you all cart-blanche to feel even more smug and satisfied than usual.

As vibrasphere says, using this thread to score points and puff yourselves up in the absence of a fight is not an attractive way to present yourselves.

Calm down - you are right - you don't need to reassure each other every five minutes!
Two sayings are indelibly imprinted on my mind from a very early age.

1) "It is wicked to mock the afflicted."
2) "There, but for the grace of God &c..."

Perhaps if people paused and thought more, there might be less senseless cruelty in this world.
They are not taught to Mike....
The quicker they murder someone and get 4 years for that the better.
There are times when irony will produce a wry smile, and times when feelings are too deep to attempt humour - gues which this one is?
andy, with the greatest of respect, stop being so sanctimonious. You know as well as I do that the self-righteousness, smugness and point scoring nonsense flows liberally in all directions on this site. vibrasphere is of course right.
If I appear sancitmonious, my apologies - it is never my intention.

It was said in mitigation that they came from 'good homes'. That makes what they did worse in my eyes. They should have known better.
Agree with AOG on this one - disgraceful.
In the Forces this type of conduct in the Officers' Mess used to be described as "high jinks".
simply unbelievable.

I think you may have been watching too many American films.

I don't know if you have ever been in the British Forces or even in an Officer's Mess, but I can assure you nothing anywhere close to what these twisted individuals committed, would take place I can assure you.

I suspected as much AOG.

I am sure officers are known for a robust sense of humour, but there is nothing humourous about the crime - or the 'punishment'!
having worked with people on the autistic spectrum i find this inbelievable! that poor boy must have been so scared and humilated. it would be horrible for anyone but 100 times worse for someone autistic. my heart goes out to him and his family.
those three thugs should be put in prison for it not walking free
anotheoldgit,

1. Yes I was.

2. Yes I have.

3. No, you cannot "assure" me when I know differently. End of story.
