Yet again - it's one rule for Muslim extremists and another for the res...hang on!!!

Can someone PLEASE explain what in God's name is happening here:

http://www.dailymail....remists-face-EDL.html

I thought the accepted line was that Muslim extremists get away with saying and doing anything they like, but if the rest of us did the same, we'd end up in court.

So why on earth have these men been charged?

Is this some big mistake?

Should there be an enquiry?

Or is this further evidence that the 'one rule for them, another for us' argument is...

...poppycock?

(Did you see what I did there?)

PP, "double standards" That’s religion for you, don’t all Christians and Muslims have double standards, supporting and loving, worshipping and praying to a god that has committed genocide and screwed over this world like no other!!

Oh but that’s the God of the old testament I hear you cry!! is that a different God or is their just one?

Hi, I agree, why live in a country you don't like. Maybe our Prime Minister should be more like Austrailia's. She is quoted recently as saying this which is taken from a e-mail I received.

Australia says NO - Second Time she has done this !

She sure isn't backing down on her hard line stance and one has to appreciate her belief in the rights of her native countrymen..

A breath of fresh air to see someone lead. I wish some leaders would step up in Canada, UK & USA .

It took a lot of courage for this woman to speak, what she had to say for the world to hear. The retribution could be phenomenal, but at least she was willing to take a stand on her and Australia 's beliefs.

The whole world needs a leader like this!

Prime Minister Julia Gillard - Australia

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law, were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..

"IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.. Take It Or Leave It.

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. "

"This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom."

"We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society. Learn the language!"

"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certain
^ That 'speech' was originally attributed to John Howard, the former PM of Australia.........but even he never actually said it.

I don't see the point in confusing the issue with religion, I'm not a Christian either!

BUT as honest decent 'people', they are living in a country that they hate and would like our soldiers to burn in hell????? really????

These people are not moral or decent and I would have the same view if they were Christian, Catholic, Buddhist or Rastafarian!
PP, I only said it because religion is at the root of all these problems!!

Religion has devided people and turned them all against each other! they are all now killing each other to see who has the most peace loving God.

Thank God im an Atheist :-)
Even if it wasn't said it sounds good. Why live somewhere that you don't like and have no respect for the country or the people that live there. Over the years I have lived in a few countries and have always respected the laws and people of those countries.
The rationale (for the extremists) is something like;
1. There is no God but Allah.
2. Righteous people believe in Allah.
3. Infidels who don't believe in Allah are beneath contempt.
4. Righteous people, being right, are entitled to take advantage of infidels in whatsoever manner they choose; the issue of hypocrisy not arising, because they are right and everyone else is wrong...
So Allah not big into forgiving then lol.

This thread seems to ave deviated along a line in which there seems to be little disagreement.

Generally, it seems that w're offended by extremists - but the point (I believe) that JTP (who IS a 'she' by the way) is making, is that there is a driver behind religious extremism displayed by the protracted who have been arrested. The point of their protests are driven by our involvement in what has been described as Illegal war in the Middle East.

Something we should think about - how comes Muslims have been living quietly in the UK for 40 years, but it's only in the past seven or eight years extremism has taken hold?

Is there a link between our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan which has fuelled the fires?

For 'protracted' read 'protesters' (damn Spellcheker).
Thats part of the problem SP, as you say 'The point of their protests are driven by our involvement in what has been described as Illegal war in the Middle East'

The notion of British passport holders who's allegiance is elsewhere, an elsewhere that does not share similar ideaologies as the country they choose to reside makes for an abrasive society. These are people who want a say in how the country runs; you cant really view them as akin to a load of sun wrinkled Essex pensioners in Spain.

Alot of British people disagree with the war in Afghan and what is to be acheived there, but are less vocal or vitriolic about our involvement. This is purely 'us vs them' and will only worsen an already fractured society.
call me rascist or whatever because this is what a country does to you im placid and think each to there own but seeing all this Sugar going on then EDL all the way its a group of black, white, asian and all but cant stand people who pull rascist cards and takeover THIS IS ENGLAND aply by are rules or FLUFF.

note to self: dont mess with prendy.

Prendy I must point out one thing, A blackboard is still a blackboard, a whiteboard is called a white board because its white, to my knowledge blackboards are still in use and still called blackboards.
