Anything but praying would be a start Squarebear.
Threads in the News section don't *need* to have a question.........they just have to be News.

Squarebear are you praying? if you are it doesn't seem to be doing a lot of good.
If I am not near enough to Japan to help, somehow prayer will give me redemption?
I have friends in Japan and I am hoping and wishing they are safe. I do not pray, as I am not religious but there's nothing more I can do.
"If I am not near enough to Japan to help....."

What is this help and action you keep talking about? Please share your ideas, as all I am seeing on the TV is helpless people.
Sorry SB, my big mouth, I hope they are alright.

So... exactly how I feel Squarebear?
I've stopped watching any coverage.
It'll take a while before we start to hear the 'miraculous survival' stories and I can't bring myself to watch any more people dying 'for real' in my front room..........
I don't pray because I am not religious, but I think it's part of human nature to spend a moment or two fervently wishing for something good to happen somewhere to someone caught up in this tragedy.
dabees - I hope and wish. Others call it praying. I don't intend on amusing you with wordplay on this thread.
I am not religious in the least either, but if I had a pound for every time I've said, "Oh please God..."

Hope, wish, pray... to some of us, it all means the same thing.
The Red Cross estimates that the Tsunami waves created by this Earthquake are higher than some of the Pacific Islands in their path. They will be travelling across the Pacific right now and very worrying if you are in the Danger Zone. The first wave estimated at 30m may not be the highest either. Bad day ahead for many.
I thought they had plenty of warning so most of these areas shown had been evacuated.
Japan is well prepared for Tsunamis,if they weren't the loss of life would be huge.
