So so sad...
The most chilling image, for me, was the tsunami heading its unstoppable way towards a road where there are vehicles still attempting to make an escape.........and you can see that they just won't.......
Seems to be a lot of these things happening just lately. Gearing up for 2012?
I agree JTH, very sad.

People on twitter are sharing their thoughts & sending messages with the hashtag #prayforjapan
I can't view the link... probably just as well. :-(

The tsunami is expected to reach Hawaii at about 1pm our time.
Does anyone know how big the tsunami presently is or what height it's expected to reach?

It's also on BBC News http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10318089
Hadn't heard the news until just now. Devastating.

Puts my little problems into perspective.

(p.s. that wave height of 10m is when it's on the land; in the middle of the ocean, it would hardly be a ripple)
I'm sure if your family were in the path of danger, Dabees, you'd be the first to start praying.
The Tsunami is not like the single large tidal wave so often pictured in films. It is a relentless surge of water pushing its way across the land........it is the debris pushed and dragged along with it which causes the devastation; it doesn't even have to be particularly deep..
I'd try and do something constructive No Mercy, Prayer wouldn't achieve anything.
I'm just watching now and it's pushing boats, cars and houses along with it. Everyone must feel so helpless. I know we moan about Britain but at least we don't have anything like that (yet).
What constructive thing would you suggest doing to stop the tsunami dabees?
All well and good but just out of interest whats the question ?
