I think it's got to be "I love x more than life itself". I always cringe when I hear this, who actually loves life itself? What a load of old tripe.

Interesting replies, I'm agreeing with some of you and cringing too as I'm guilty of using some of these sayings myself lol.

I hate the whole "journey" thing too.
"bin on the razz" or "going on the razz"
"It's only money"
I'll give it 110%
I'll give it 110%. This is nonsense: there is no 110% - 100% is as good as it gets.
I could never get my head around: many a muckle makes a mickle.
my girl, usually accompanyed with finger pointing by my monster in law
"it's really, really important that..."
To be honest it HAS to be the worstest of all "to be honest"!
It has got to be just one word - 'absolutely' - which is being used in place of a simple 'yes' in the most inappropriate situations, especially on TV! Grrrr...
'cheap at half the price'

surely it should be 'cheap at twice the price'?
sandyRoe, the expression is many a mickle mak's a muckle. Does it make sense now? :)

Roughly translated: lots of small things add up to one big thing.

"Yuh know". No, I don't know, that's why I'm asking, dumb brain!
@Tinkerpuss

I agree with you - "absolutely" - In this context I believe it means totaly and without question - Please correct me if I am absolutely wrong. GRRRRR from me as well!
"By One Get One Free" (BOGOF). NO! you have already made enough proffit, so you can afford to give me "two for the price of one" without denting "the bottom line".

Which brings me to "get the cheapest free" and "there is no such thing as a free lunch". Of course there isn't, we've already paid for it inyour inflated prices.

OMG! I'm all worn out now.
ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod......for anything from the bus being late to nuclear war
And the of course there's "new queue lur" instead of nuclear. Not a phrase or saying as such but I'm on a roll.
He's a legend,. Seldom, if ever is this true.
