mondays child is fair of face
tuesdfay child full of grace
wednesday child full of woe
thursday child has far to go
friday loving and giving
saturday works hard for a living
but the child that is born on the sabbath day is bonny and blyth and good and gay.
Would have been better in Q&P as MrB has said, but anyhoooos!
Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace;
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go;
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for its living;
But the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay
Mondays child is fair of face
Tuesdays child is full of grace
Wednesdays child is full of woe
Thursdays child has far to go
Fridays child is loving and giving
Saturdays child works hard for a living
And the child born on the sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay!
I've always heard it as, "And a child born on the Sabbath day, is warm & wise & good & gay". I think that's because bonny & blythe aren't common sayings in North America. I personally know what they mean, but it's bad enough as it is that 90% (probably more for kids & teens) think gay means homosexual & not happy.
