Oh well. You are authorised to view this one which is imho much more interesting. China tosses one in the beehive and skiddaddles . . . although in all fairness, who would have thought an innocent scientific inquiry concerning fairies would escalate into a religious debate between atheists?
You better hope this one is forbidden
Now here's a thought or two.
A person blind from birth has no concept of colour, and goes through life with just four senses instead of our usual five.
So, we cdonclude that this person does not have the whole picture of reality. Fairy Nuff!
So, are we not arrogant to presume that our five senses can in fact detect ALL of the necessary stimulants available in the universe, that is, all sensory stimulants only fit into five categories?
Can you understand ALL of the available knowledge in the universe? No? 10%? No? 1%? No? 0.000001%? Perhaps?
Well, what if God exists in the parts of the universe that you don't understand?
Or what if He exists in the bit that you understand as well, but you simply didn't recognise Him.
There you go Mibs - time3 to put on your pointy hat and unscroll your scrolls, burn a bit of incense, light the candle and ring the bell as you open the mysterious book of wondrous stories.

No need for apologies. A worthy summons from near disaster.
"Wonderous Stories" (from the "Going For The One" CD which resides in my random play carousel) followed by one of my favorite "Yes" compositions of all time, "Awaken" . . . makes me want to run out to the pasture for a little cow pie harvesting and pop open a can of soup. With a belly full of soup perhaps I can then contemplate the other question . . .
. . . and Naomi thought China was a bad influence . . .

Erm .... first Starman minus his skin ...... then the mysteries of the universe ....... then a bunch of chortlers ........... and now cow pie, soup, and density. I think I've lost the plot. THELAND! Make me a cup of cocoa too. I felt it had been a long day ....... and now I know it has. I'll try harder tomorrow. x
Sorry about that Naomi, Only those who have taken that journey can be expected to know the lay of the land. On behalf of those with a bit more curiousity than sense, or for those who care to brush up on their mycology, here's a closer look see.
And now by special request an answer to Theland's other question . . .

In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king!
Our limited perceptions are of reality. While an erroneous assessment may lead to confusion there are no contradictions in reality. When sufficiently analysed we find our senses all agree on the nature of the reality they perceive and the knowledge they provide paints an integrated picture of reality. Contradictions only arise out of erroneous assumptions. Where an apparent contradiction rears its ugly head it is ones premise that one needs to reassess. Sound follows light in a timely manner in proportion to the distance it travels through a specific medium.
A blind man smells the smoke, hears the sizzle and crackling, feels the heat and with a little experience gathers that danger is near without the need to see the flames and red glowing embers. Have I been deprived of a sixth sense (other than a sense of my own mortality) the other five senses suggest no hint of? If so then it is not that I havent looked for them. Other senses that various other species possess to gather useful information essential to their unique methods of survival and to navigate reality in specific ways are mostly heightened or modified versions of the ones humans use for this same purpose.
It is the uniquely human attribute of reason that has enabled us to grasp the wide spectrum of colours of light that stretch, in both directions, far beyond the thin band of colours directly perceived in a rainbow.
Such is the nature of countless wondrous stories, not of fiction but of yet to be discovered facets of reality, that remain to be written and shared.

Reasoning is not just simply using common sense. Reasoning enables us to and requires that we logically integrate all of our perceptions into a non-contradictory, coherent, conceptualised understanding of reality. All that can be claimed as knowledge is based on and reducible to that which is directly perceived in reality. All other pre- or ill- conceived ideas are floating abstractions disassociated with and unbased in reality. Such ideas are not concepts but imposters riding on the coattails of the implicit merits of the conceptual process. Following the conceptual chain to the missing link reveals the error in logic that allows illusions to pose as reality.
While conceptualizing ones perceptions and experiences is a natural process for children, a familiarity with the process is required to grasp the nature of the process itself. Unfortunately, by the time most of us would have been prepared to acquire an understanding of the process our minds have been corrupted and poisoned by those who we looked up to and counted on for intellectual guidance. In violation of our trust we were instructed to believe in Santa Clause and other imaginary beings and to question our ability to properly weigh the evidence or to believe in the absence of or in contradiction to existing evidence.
Given the chaotic disarray of the conceptual consciousness most of us inherit by the time we leave home to face the reality we are required to deal with is it any wonder so many of us turn to drugs or imaginary beings in an attempt to make sense of a world made incomprehensible by minds that had the potential to build the conceptual chain that leads to an understanding of the principles of justice and the meaning of and means to realise what love is, but that were instead programmed to self destruct, no longer able to reassemble the pieces that would enable them to realise that the tools their minds needed were substituted with a monkey wrench.

For me it was a long, difficult, tedious, torturous process to piece the puzzle of reality back together but for me there was no alternative because through it all I managed to retain a glimpse of the real true beauty and wonder of what I had lost. There were many moments when I did wonder if the struggle was justified or had any hope of a worthwhile outcome, but having reached this point in my journey I shudder to think that I might have given up and never found anything as real or meaningful as what I have now realised.
I am happy because I have acquired the knowledge required to realise that I deserve to be and should be. For me to be unhappy now would require a rejection of the reality I have devoted my life to understanding. If I should die before this message has been read or before I am able to post it, I will die content in the knowledge that I have restored for and to myself the promise that only an honest mind can conceive or hope to keep. May everyone be so blessed.

But, let me say this, many thanks for taking the time and trouble to answer me in such depth.
~You didn't have to, you could have just ignored me, yet, you thought about my proposition and responded.
Many many thanks.
(I have taken aday off work today - bit of toothache but really feeling juist unable to face the crappy yardy oily sweaty achy reality of ships 'n yard, etc etc God forgive me for taking the easy way out.)
ey you lot - when I'm down and need somebody to talk to, you guys really fit the bill. Manyy many thanks for just being there and getting serious, philosophical, funny, aggravating, sympathetic, unsympathetic, hard and soft, and basically just being good cyber friends. I really mean
that.
If I win 100m on the lottery, how will I contact you all to give you each a 25 premium bond?
New eyelashes for China, new set of spoons for Luna, new custard pie set for Nims, a new pair of slipppers for Miblander, as I'm sure he wears them out quickly, walking up and down in the small hours, refelecting, and smoking his weed to the chagrin of Mrs Mibs who demands he put the light out and come back to bed, but Miblious, in a fast paced reflection of life and reality, continues his pacing and smoking, and stoned, dives into his quill and inkwell to deliver another nugget of wisdom. Oh yes, hard on the slippers, and poor old, (or not so old?) Mrs Miblishokov puts her eyeshades on and cuddles up to the cat to the sound of goose feather scratching on parchment.
Oh Miblishkin, before I try to understand your posts above, please, please, for the benefit of all, please comment on your appreciation of, "ROMANCE."
And that goes for you all! I am a romantic, choccys and flowers etc
Are you romantic? Little notes in the lunhbox? Little personal gifts? Pecks on cheek? Holding hands?
It makes the world go round!
Don't be shy - I do them all, but my
