Nearly the end of the month and not quite finished...
24ac Ancient pauper close to pitiful wild dog heading off, tail-extended (4-3)
L?P?-A?L - not sure about the p or the l though
pixie373 - It'a wild stab in the dark. Anagram of Lago (who made a film of The Prince and the Pauper + (di)ngo (wild dog heading off). If the poster hadn't mentioned the P or L, I wouldn't have responded. I'm not going to attempt answering any more tonight and I'm putting more water in my next glass of whisky :-)
Thanks for your help but I'm not sure that's going to fit as I'm pretty sure now the l at the end is right. My best guess would be an ancient word for a pauper being something like a lack-all but haven't found any reference to it. Never mind, thanks for trying!
