After hours & hours I've finally been left with one empty cell!
All I need is for someone to explain the wordplay.
1 down: Elizabethan's to weigh up a barker (6) YAWPE? it has to be yawper, but I don't get the Elizabethan bit.

It's one of Edward Spenser's (1552-99) words Ripper - 'way' for 'weigh' + PER = 'a'
