Thank you all. dannyk13 I thought of retinas but then it couldn't be circus maximus. 6a I do have CROP but not sure about that either. Brain freeze from self-isolating I think!

I don't think RETINAS to RETINAE will help though if CROP was the crosser that stopped it fitting
I can't parse retinae anyway.
What was the clue that gave CROP?
