Guardian crossword prize.

I have been lucky enough to have won the Guardian crossword prize. A couple of very uninteresting books, I gave them to the charity shop. I don't wish to sound ungrateful but bring back the dictionary prize, at least you could pass them on.

I'm afraid I never do the Saturday Guardian, exactly because of the poor quality of the prize.

The books were (a) Guardian Style, which seems to be an aid to being a journalist for the office tea lady.(b) A clue to our lives, the first half of the book being a disjointed rambling on the evolution of the crossword ,the second half consisted of crosswords from yesteryear in print to small for me to read. Sorry to sound curmudgeonly but somewhat disappointed, but hey ho.
I agree. I've stopped sending in because of the obvious remaindered attributes of the prize. At least book tokens would give a chance to get something worthwhile. It's typical of the mixture of arrogance and "chancer" quality that characterises this paper. Shame on their heads. Not that they'll give a damn.
