Goodness is it that time of the month already! This weekend you will find out who is January Champion in both versions of the game.

In the MM Links Game, there is as yet no clear contender for the title. Several players are bunched together on just 4, 5 or 6 points so any of them could take the honours - even one of the lower scorers could strike lucky.
The Court Jester (kettledrum) will have one last jest with you in Q&P tomorrow morning (intro at 8:45am, game starts at 9:00). Although bonus points in this game only last for 2 minutes from the discovery of each link, you are free to play any time up until 7pm Sunday when I declare the results.

Seekeerz (down under in Oz) manages our sister game of the KM Links based on the GK crosswords in the Saturday/Monday Telegraph. No time-sensitive bonus points in that one so play any time over the weekend with equal chance of points. That too is launched in Q&P tomorrow morning - usually somewhat earlier than the MM version.

That's the plugs over, now for the party in 'The Shrubbery'.

Last Friday's gathering developed into a small party, though the guest of honour, x-ray, was missing. Maybe he'll turn up tonight and we'll have an excuse to party all over again.
Which reminds me - when I turned up to open the Shrubbery tonight, I noticed a bit of a nasty niff in the air (and it wasn't the compost heap or the blood/bone fertilizer either). I think some of you have been taking the council's new sign in the car park too literally!

Please use the facilities across the road.

There is a well stocked bar beside the potting shed and tonight all drinks are free.

Evening all...blimey gen2 what kind of drinks sre they? Non alcoholic! :-((

That was Sarumite causing the smell...with his mushrooms.

Well I have had a really hectic week, so I need a large drink.

A big one you say Pauline?

Is this big enough?

(18 litres)

(I was tempted to offer a camel at an oasis)
I may be able to help there, Pauline....OH bought a bottle of gin just before Christmas, poured himself a generous triple and then developed gout. I can't drink the stuff, unfortunately, so if I send it up into the ether look out for it falling from the sky somewhere over Cheshire.
Cheers both of you! :-)

That wine is just the right size gen2.

I never used to be able to drink gin years ago tearinghair, it always put me on a downer! But these days I am okay on it.....unless I am always on downers now, and so can't tell the difference! :-)))
Good evening gen2 ..... and pauline.
Guest of honour ???? Oh dear, sorry couldn't make it last Friday, I was visiting one of my sons down in Kent and far too busy sampling some of his beverages - a bit stronger than the free stuff gen2 was advertising here.
Hope everybody is well and raring to go, both in the shrubbery and of course with the MM links.
Good to see you x-ray.
Hope you enjoyed your weekend.
Does your son brew his own?
I went to a sensory centre with my sister and the twins this week, and as soon as I walked in there watching all the lights going around the room, it felt like I was paraletic!
BTW x-ray...noticed you scored a couple last week didn't you?
Evening all ... I'll pass on your free drinks offer thanks gen2, "adams ale" is definitely not high on my list of Friday night sustenance! lol

Will have to disappear for a while (to room 101), but will be back later ;O)
Hi pauline.
No, not home brewed, just Budweiser, and several other makes of lager. Must confess I much prefer draught Guinness, but not from a can.
Another of my sons who only lives about 10 miles away from me brews his own cider, pretty strong stuff
Yes, a lucky couple of points last week on the MM
See you in a bit Sarumite.

My Dad used to brew his own beer, and any visitors used to fetch a few cans, bottles etc...and always opt for his. I never forget one lad, a boyfriend of my sister's, saying the next day that it felt like it had taken the enamel off his teeth! :-)
Hello everyone, it's a long time since I have been here on a Friday night, but I read that Sarumite was going to wear a cunning disguise so thought I would see if I could spot him !
Hi Kay...good to see you after the week you've had!

I think Sarumite is blending into the long grass! :-)
I don't suppose the car boots are back on yet Kay?

Evsajo, there is a 'Routemaster' parked behind the azeleas. Do you think that could be him?
I think it's probably got squatters in it! :-)
Yep, I'm lurking in the long grass by the potting shed ... but you won't recognise me ;O)
