Hello, good evening and welcome to all our members.
(Hasn't David Frost been putting himself about on TV lately ?)
Do draw up to the fire and get cosy for tonight's club.
After the great success of the talk 'Knitting patterns through the ages', the Committee tried to engage the same speaker to give the companion talk 'Crotchet patterns I have loved ' but sadly, she said that she was tied up. So, unless any members feel they can step into the breach, I am afraid we will have to forgo our talk tonight.
For the raffle so far I have
A bottle of Sanatogen
Six oranges
Two tubes of Polo mints
and three knitting needles sizes 10, 8 and 7.

Even after the AB evening closed her eyes
Our Mamya could crochet.
Her hands would walk the rows of Starbuck wool
turning, bending, to a woollen Lie-In music.
The Nungate dye lots were registered in memory:
LadyA-skin, B00 chocolate cakes, polar pan,
the stitches remembered like faded Rowan rhymes:
Sloopystich, Nonnaflower, Sir Alec's stitch, a Slinkykate.
Tied to our AB lives those past years
by merely a soft colored Mamya yarn,
she’d sit for hours, her rosy lips
moving as if reciting Apotheosic prayers,
coaching the blighted Clubbers hands.
