Owing to computer problems I've been having trouble getting the club open tonight.
So I hereby declare tonight's meeting of the Mad Over Fifties Club open.
The minstrels are up in the gallery playing their madrigals and toccattas, later on they have threatened to play their version of Aerosmiths' greatest hits (oh joy!)
The hot plate special is a beef casserole with dumplings so light and fluffy they have to be tied to the plates! As always there is a selection of volly vonts, canopies and other nibbles. The pudding trolley tonight we have a "pot luck" selection, simply choose which pud would like and it will be brought to you.
All of our usual treats and activities are available for members use so feel free to indulge in whichever past time takes your fancy (just so long as it is legal)
Tonight's tailcock is a special tribute in honour of Excel's Grandma who sadly passed away earlier in the week. He himself has requested it and we are honoured to oblige. Ladies and gentlemen tonight's tailcock is "Grandma's Goodnight Kiss" a delightful distillation which I'm certain will be enjoyed by our members. I hope we will all raise our glasses in a toast to Excel and his dear Grandma.
A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals
hi nungate just popping my head round the door to wish you all well. spent the whole day in the garden and now feeling a bit tired. Hope queenie managed to read her mail. must go. xx
Nungate, I'm sloping off.
Just made a rash promise that if the UK get "douze points" I'll climb the church tower and do a base jump off the top. Better check the parachute is packed properly x x x
Hey Lady J wish I'd been able to spend the day in the garden! It's been coming down pelters all day! Queenie is just having a peek - she's had quite an evening! Belting round the Towers screeching as her favourite rider won the speedway grand prix (he's a British rider yaay!) and now she's rapt with Eurovision though she's a mite peeved as she preferred the Norwegians I personally favoured the Greeks but....
Do have drinky Igor, a drink for Lady J if you please
If all our guests are no longer out in the grounds and gardens that would be a good idea Igor. Just be sure that all our guests are within the confines of the Towers before you switch them off
You're welcome. It's always good to be on the right side of car mechanics - haven't met one I didn't like yet - mind you I've only really been acquainted with two others, one of whom has had a "bit of a thing" for Queenie - come to think of it, she has quite a few chaps on bit of a string, despite them all being aware that she has got her ex-sailor - I never got the chance to say "Hello sailor" to him either, too late now
now that you mention it.....we're looking for a wing mirror for a Vectra any ideas? (did I mention best beloved can be a bit of a cheapskate?) know any scrapyards in this area?
Sorry nungate I don't know of any scrap yards in your neck of the woods, have a look on Ebay your bound to find on on there. Have you got a broken one then ?.
