Here we are again, another meeting of the Mad Over Fifties Club! Welcome to Nungate Towers, one and all.
Tonight's Tailcock will be the "November Noggin" a lovely spicy brew - guaranteed "central heating" for this cold damp evening! On our menu tonight we have a rich hearty beef casserole with dumplings, as our hot plate special, on the pudding trolley we have plum duff and custard! Other treats for tonight are volly vonts, canopies and horses doovers!
Up in the gallery the Minstrels are currently playing pontoon but later on they will be regaling us with their usual selection of madrigals and fugues, down in the ballroom our favourite local band The Tone Deafs have joined with the Hotel Spendido Palm Court Orchestra to form a "supergroup" and they will be swinging along to the popular tunes from the "Swing" era! (pass me my bobby socks!) Meanwhile down in the Music room we have a special treat, the return of Flamenco Flo and her performing poodles!
Everybody dance now!!!
For the rofl tonight I have to offer:
set of broken lute strings (courtesy of the Minstrels)
1 cardboard box (empty but useful)
Spare set of chains (thank you Igor)

A warm welcome awaits all who enter these portals

carriages at midnight

You can have a Noggin any way you choose Daisy, I bet Blackpool looked nice from above. The only pier I have ever walked all the way around is Central pier in Blackpool I have trouble with heights and "gaps" in the posts.
You could see the marks on Mr Nungate's arm after we got back to terra firma!

Good evening Mrs. O lovely to see you. Rest assured the Rupert Annuals have been removed from the rofl list.
Care for a noggin?
Mammar, the recipient died before their birthday and I don't have any other 102 year olds in my circle of relations and friends
yes tony - the branch in question their town is having their lights switched on and a market and stuff so been roped in to help.

I would assume so DT but I've never had to deal with their 'Clients'
Thank you nungate. Yes, a noggin (if that is another word for a bucket) would be divine.
I must pass on the food - suet dumplings are the food of Satan!
Absolutely fine thank you DTC. How about you? I do however hate being cold so the weather forecast is not entirely to my liking. Think I must have been born to bloom in warmer climes.
Yes, Tony, would enjoy a dance. Glad Bow is recovering.
mrs o I think you have the dumplings confused with Chocolate!
Whitby pier fell in the North Sea in 1853 when it got hit by some Italian liner coming into the harbour, the jet set of the town wanting to board it and sail on to Scarborough.
Good evening one and all. I do hope everyone has a drink. Plant, make sure all buckets or glasses have been filled or refilled if you please
I still have a pulse. He has been a tad premature there.

not after lunch with gness lol nungate put them back in the roffle !.

Hope business go's well tomorrow the queenie, anybody famous turning on the Christmas lights ?.
they are forecasting God's dandruff and freezing conditions for midweek down here.....Lady J will adore that.

It's a small seaside town Tony.....I doubt it!
Nah don't think so Tony...they didn't bother to ask me so they can find some B- list Celeb for it ;)
Chocolate? A bar of Cadbury's fruit and nut lasts me at least a fortnight.
Bottle of Scotch however does not.
How very dare they not ask you, queenie.

Small seaside town, nungate 1, so who is gonna switch them on, my bet is on the mayor.
Chocolate doesn't even last 5 mins with me Daisy...or cheese for some reason
Question Author
Fruit and nut? One of my favourites too. Do you remember the one they did with just sultanas? Or the Fry's bar which was a sandwich of two layers of milk chocolate with a layer of plain chocolate in the middle?
Neither chocolate nor dumplings nor Marmite are the food of the devil.
Now, liver and onions are another matter.
Question Author
No mayors here either! There might be a Lord Provost but I doubt it! Could be the MP or the MSP (he's a nice chap) or some prominent councillor
(oh the excitement)
